What's new

Game # 25: "Just let it happen. It'll be over soon."

If we are tanking, the Core 5 should get heavy minutes even if they suck (Kanter included).

I have the impression that Corbin believes he could be renewed at the end of the season.

Favors has been very impressive of late. Not forcing things on offense, taking what the defense gives him, consistently making the right pass, better/more consistent in-game shooting mechanics on his J. He's also doing a much better job taking up space on the defensive end.

Key to the Sacramento game was all 10 rotation players filling their roles and being productive. Burks and Kanter had stinkers tonight, but the starters were able to carry the team to a win. Gotta give Corbin some credit for bringing the team together, and having patience while players got healthy, and learned their roles and how to play together. He may not be a great (or even average) coach at this point, but he's not nearly as bad as many think.

Didn't get to see the game tonight so I was shocked that the Jazz won another on the road. I really thought this upcoming road trip would result in a 1-9 or 2-8 record. Now the Jazz have already won two. Not a good night for the tank league wise.
Bucks lost another close game, Nets lost again and GS was losing but they always seem to win games when they are far behind.

Nice win mostly by the starters per the boxscore. I've been telling other people not to panic so I won't but if this young Jazz team continues this win streak on the road then I might start worrying a little.

It's time to trade Marvin. If Favors and Kanter really can't play together, we need to know that for sure by the end of the season, you know, by actually playing them together. And of course, the tank is in jeopardy as well.

I know this game sucks for the tank and all...but on the other hand, **** the Nuggets. As much as I want the tank to happen I couldn't help but smile after being forced to listen to their horrid announcing crew whine about the officiating, even though the Nugs shot something like 10 more FTs than the Jazz did.

Yeah, they're definitely top 5 in the league for whining about calls.

This thread has been endlessly entertaining. Pre-game chatter was totally distracted with a few questioning if this was even a game thread. During the game total apathy. After the game was disbelief, angst, threats and promises to never post again. The team we are ostensibly here to support won a game that no body thought they would. Buck up little buckaroos! Signs that playing our young players (with judicious use of veterans or perhaps not so judicious) may actually be working has some of you looking at your veins and looking for razor blades. Hilarious!! Jazz are still a ways from being a very good team, but one never knows, does one? As for Wiggins/Parker, they are a long ways from making the teams that draft them into a contender and the Jazz could possibly do as well from what ever pick they end up with. As for the tank at all costs supporters. I think you should start a search for your lost balls.

The truth is Marvin stretches out the floor unlike any of our big men can. The shooting ability of Marvin and Burke prevents defenders from cheating off to clog the lane. Remember those first few weeks when every defense packed the lane against us? Yeah, they try that now and Burke and Marvin will make them pay. Defenders stay at home? Favors, Hayward, and Jefferson score.

With Marvin and Burke, we are actually a decent NBA team. Replace Marvin with Kanter and Burke with tinsley/JL3, and we are the worst team in the league because everyone can just pack the paint and watch us throw up bricks.

Good point and you need to mention as well what kind of impact having Burke and Marvin does for Hayward. 30pts, 5ast, 0 TO? Now we are playing dude where he is at his best, not forcing him to be something he is not.

OMG, so true. I messaged a couple friends that are Nuggets fans that their announcers are ABSOLUTELY the worst and homerism isn't even the word. Yes that is natural and our guys do it too, but I remember one play when a Jazz guy and a Nuggy both went onto the air for a ball and it went out of bounds, the refs gave it to the Jazz. The color guy was losing his mind and then we saw the replay and it showed CLEARLY that the Jazz guy didn't touch it AT ALL, not even close. Yet he still said, "Well, I guess it is hard to tell." WTH is that crap? lol, anyway, after that I found a Jazz feed online to watch. I seriously cant take those pukes calling a game. Id rather watch the score updates. Any other team I can handle, and as far as the tank goes, yeah, its getting scary, but I don't care what it means, when the Jazz thump the Thuggets I love it no matter what
