Game 3 Round 1 San Antonio Spurs VS Utah Jazz, Sat. May 5th @ 8pm MT --Official Game Thread--

Brian T. Smith ‏ @tribjazz
Corbin said #UtahJazz simply have to execute better. No plans to change starting lineup vs. #Spurs for Game 3.

I am sick of defending Corbin, seriously. What a ****ing clown.

This can't be true, it just can't be.

I'm a Jazz fan from San antonio and I can tell you that San antonio, Texas is no small market. San antonio is the 7th largest city in the United States of America and currrently is having one of the biggest oil booms the State has ever seen right on the outskirts of the city. Include San antonio's population with the fact that over 90% of the people who live in Austin, Texas right up the road are also Spurs fans and you can see there is big money to be made. Austin, Texas also plays the Spurs games locally. Not to mention that practically the entire Rio Grande Valley "The Southern part of Texas" are also majority Spurs fans. This "Small Market" BS is simply not true. Make no mistake there is Money to be made off of SAN ANTONIO

Taken from realgm (where someone said it was taken from somwhere else), but too good not to share:

Key matchup of the game:

I'm gonna miss this game too. Ugh. In-Laws cinco party. It'll be fun but nobody there will be interested in anything NBA. I'll maybe get to catch a couple seconds at a time.

I hope Corbs plays Favors a bunch more but besides that the guys just have to step up. Go Jazz!

fun fact:
denver is in same situation with kenneth farried.
karl wanted to take him out due to lack of mythical playoff experience.
but unlike corbin, george karl has a power that seems to elude corbin. The power of common sense

Unlike Corbin, Karl doesn't have 2 players who are better offensively on the front line than Fahried.

If we were all Nuggets fans we would just be complaining that Jordan Hamilton hasn't been getting any playing time, despite producing really well when given extended minutes.

Greetings from downtown Amsterdam...hopefully I can watch the game tomorrow morning. Hopefully I remember there was a game at all

You have to meet up with dutchrudder, watch the game with him, get pics, plaster them all over this site, and tell us all about him.

You must.

Favors isn't a SF.

I know this whole position thing with minutes gets incredibly complicated to understand, surely one reason Corbin has a difficult time with it. Let me see if we can reason through this oh-so-complicated matter.

Minutes available at SF position: 48
Minutes available at PF position: 48
SFs on roster: Howard, Carroll, Miles, Evans.
Those who can only play PF on the roster: None
Those who Corbin thinks only play PF on the roster: Millsap
PF/Cs on roster: Jefferson, Favors, Kanter.
Those guaranteed 36 minutes each at PF/C positions: Jefferson, Millsap.
Minutes left over to be divided among Kanter/Favors: 24
People who think Howard takes his minutes from other SFs, because, you know, he's a SF, you know, so only SFs would lose their minutes: Tyrone Corbin, Cyrone Torbin.
Adjustments that can be made to maximize the amount of time your best players are on the floor: Surely not giving Howard's minutes to Millsap by allowing someone else to start at 3 who you're not afraid to cut minutes from. Obviously this won't work. To anyone who "really gets the game" and obviously fans are notoriously off-base so surely the coach, with more experience and a paycheck obviously has to be aware of the best lineups. Therefore, it's apparent that Josh Howard's minutes at the three are more valuable than using those minutes at 3 on someone else that enables room to be made at 4 for Favors.

Favors isn't a SF.

In the scenario that dutch is talking about favors is a power forward and millsap is the small forward.... but i think you knew that and were just trying to be an a-hole. Congrats, you did it.

And Jordan hamilton was not a 3rd overall pick who just happen to probably be the future of his team.
If jordan hamilton was the one playing behind millsap and jefferson, jazz fans would not be as upset about it.

We got this one. And the next one. 2-2 going back to San Antonio next week. I'm still holding out hope that Corbin's quotes are just gamesmanship and he'll surprise us come tipoff with some adjustments to rotations/starters.

Well, with Corbin's reputation for gamesmanship, I wouldn't be surprised... oh wait, wut?

I would say I'm excited for this game, but seeing that Corbin hasn't made any adjustments yet in this series, I don't think he will start now.

Same starters for Jazz in Game 3, Corbin said.

Corbin said he might use big lineup earlier but in-game situation will dictate decision. Again said doesn't like overall matchup vs. Spurs.

I've just about had it.
