Game #31. Jazz at Memphis. Monday 6pm mtn

'Twas a game day in Memphis, and all through Jazzfanz
Not a game thread was started by even Dutchjazz
The internets were working, and the computers were too
But we all knows if you start it, they'll criticize you.

The posters were all grumpy, and thinking with dread
That wins are quite useless, they want draft picks instead
So Corbin prepares and the players all stretch
While Ian Clark watches in his home town no less.

The jazz have their starters, 3 youths and 2 vets
While all jazzfanz wonders why Kanter hasn't played yet.
And Rudy and Alec will watch from the bench
Does anyone know how to say dammit in French?

Now grizzlies fans have plenty of grief of their own,
Losing Gasol and their coach is taking its toll
11 & 15 overall and 13th place in the west,
How long until they see that tanking is best?

But grizzly fans are bitter with hearts full of scorn
And to all the draft dreamers they whisper a warn
While so many teams dream of piles of defeat,
Be careful your GM doesn't draft the next Thabeet.

So on this night as you spring to your remote and your chair
With Harpring and Boler meeting you there,
And you watch as Trey shoots another loss out of sight
Remember merry Christmas to all and to Jabari good-bye.

they says pics are worth a thousand words, but no picture could have put it as beautifully as you (mellow) just accomplished. truly a work of art.

oh....

One year I'd like to do a full 14 verse rendition of "Jazz game before Christmas". Maybe after the last kid has left home and life is quiet.

Memphis native Ian Clark calls it a "dream come true," returning to his hometown wit the Jazz. He's unlikely to dress tonight, though.

Corbin said it would be "difficult" for Clark to dress, but said the rookie is working hard. "He's going to be a good player for us."
Boo on you Corbin. Tell mike Harris and b. rush that they have the flu and you'll buy them dinner later. Let the rookie dress in his first game in his home town. Even better find 3 minutes for him in the 2nd quarter. It's not like this game matters, in fact it probably matters more to Ian than to anyone else on the team, half of whom already have dreams of getting their vacation started.

Richard Jefferson needs to show some veteran leadership and twist an ankle getting off the team bus.

BIG-AL would let Ian dress, because he is a MAN.

The Jazz could have a winning record on the east coast pre-Christmas trip? Oh da horror, when was the last time we could say that? We can't even tank right.
