Ya you can't blame him at all. Our guards are getting schooled. Why is our whole team collapsing on every big?? They were doubling Duncan who would find the wide open guard. We need to quit helping and find players that will play their own man.

Quite true. Now you know why Howard picked Utah instead of San Antonio.
Can you think of any scenario where Howard would get 16 shots in a game for The Spurs?
People will come to realize that Howard is in Utah to put up numbers so he can get another contract; most likely somewhere else.
That's not necessarily a bad thing; but Corbin needs to be aware of this while his other players are standing around watching him.

I find it funny he also made fun of Utah's flex offense; which is the same offense which happened to knock his *** out of the playoffs twice in the 90's

I liked Howard tonight. He was aggressive on defensive end. After episode with flagrant foul he was pumped up and it seems to me he was VERY pissed with the way team played. He had that look in the 4th saying "I'm fed up with all your ****, give me the ****ing ball and I'll decide it myself if you losers can't come up with anything". He is the wing that can create his own shot when he is in shape and we are in desperate need for that.
He may be the guy who might take vet leadership for the Jazz. This role is still vacant: Al and Devin simply can't fill the shoes and Millsap has been too quiet.

So many have their underwear in a knot after this one game.
The sooner you get used to losses the easier this season will be. We're rebuilding. Anyone that thought we were going to win this obviously hasn't been paying attention to the NBA. Sure, it would have been nice to have kept this competitive. But meh. We're a pretty horrible team. SA is not. And we've sucked in SA for the better part of 15 years now.
Keep your expectations realistic.
Whether we win or lose should be nearly irrelevant at this point.
What should matter is how we compete, coaching adjustments, and playing the YOUNGER PLAYERS. Giving Jefferson, Howard, and Bell burn while ignoring Burks, Evans, Favors/Kanter, is a huge mistake.
Would I love for us to win a championship this year? Obviously yes. But that ain't happenin. It's called rebuilding for a reason.

Looking at the box score, there seem to be quite a few positives in this game. I did not watch it, but we seemed to match the Spurs in rebounds (except for team rebounds), stole the ball 13 to 4 times and outblocked them 9 to 5. But how can you expect to win when you shoot 12,5% from deep and your opponent hits 62,5%. We really need to get a good and steady shooter going if this time is going to win anything in the near future.
I agree with Thriller. I didn't expect the Jazz to win in SA. THey have only won their once since the building was built. The thing I am mad about is I look at Bell and CJ stats and I ask myself what have these guys done to get playing time over Burks. The only vet guys I want to see is Tinsley and Howard to see if they can return to their past level of play. CJ and Bell are not part of the future of the team. AJ is not either. Millsap is a key reserve and needs to learn that he is not a starting PF in this league (championship team).
The Jazz are not going to play well on the road. Even when they were great their road record was ok. I just want then to play hard, play the young guys and stop playing Bell and CJ.

Incredible. Same ole same ole: Jazz get off to super slow start, 6 points in the first 7 minutes. Just like last year. Just like last year when Raja and Big Slow were new to the team and starting. Just keep playing them coach, they will figure it out sooner or later. Or not.
And getting killed with the 3 ball by SA. LMAO, always one of the best 3 ball teams in the league. What a surprise. Way to learn from past mistakes coach.

Jazz shot 37% overall and 12% from 3pt. For the season they are shooting 40% and 26% from 3pt. Thats good for 25th in the league.
So my question is, do ya'll think the Jazz players are bad shooters? Or are they getting the ball in bad spots to shoot?
And if its the later, why is the team not finding good shots in the flex? Have other teams learned to defend it? Or do the Jazz players not run it correctly?

Coaching has been questionable. I've seen Billy write it a few times, but it just doesn't seem like we even try to exploit matchups.
We have yet to find replacements for Wes Matthews, Deron Williams, Kyle Korver, Carlos Boozer, and Money. Say what you want, but those folks could score. Boozer's defense was just as bad if not worse than Jefferson's. However, Boozer's offense in the Jazz's system was at least 10x better than Jefferson's. Dude was a terror on the pick and roll. Deron, Booz, and Money were amazing (offensively). Unless we were matched up against the Lakers....

Holy **** does CJ Miles ball watch on D. There had to be 3 or 4 times where he was just standing in the middle of nowhere while the Spurs passed the ball around, and getting an open j. His jumper seems to get flatter every year. Ugly.
When did Earl Watson get so bad?

A note on PnR's: The Jazz tried to run a few with Hayward/Jefferson, Hayward/Millsap and Hayward/Favors (with Al at the 5). These plays lead to nothing when Al is on the floor. Al sets very poor screens, and even when something opens up, if Millsap isn't out there, the D just collapses with noone on the court to make them pay. When the PnR is being run with the 4 and Al on the floor, the same thing happens, as Al doesn't do a very good job finding a soft spot in the D (and his J isn't that great anyway). Those wing PnR's are much more effective with the Favors/Millsap duo, although with Harris/Watson and CJ/Raja on the perimeter, opposing D's will likely shut these down as well.
Al was still jogging up and down the court. No chance for Harris to be effective (as it seems the only time he's able to do anything positive is in transition).
The Jazz need some guards. Burks can't be much worse than Harris/Watson/Raja/CJ. He needs minutes.
Hard to compete when most of your offense is 20-foot jumpers. I was amazed at how impatient the Jazz guards were with getting the ball into the post.
