Game #6: Bucks at Jazz, Tuesday 01/03/2012 7:00 MST

Al hasn't looked lazy tonight don't know what game your watching.

The problem with Al is, even in his best games, he makes lots of bad choices on offense, lots of. Then he makes a tough shot and people think he is very good, thats not the point in basketball, you gotta make the best choice and simplest shot. CJ is the same, he makes a few nice moves which keeps our hopes alive that one day he will make a blast, but he makes so many damn bad choices, such moves ruins the teams chemistry

Hayward 5-7, 12 pts, 3 rbds, 1 ast - to many TOs and fouls 25 minutes
Favors 3-5, 6 pts, 7 rbds, 1 stl, 5 blks, 21 minutes sexy blocking
Burks 1-6, 9 pts, 2 rbs, 6 ast, 1 blk 28 minutes- guy can pass and get to the FT line
Kanter 5 pts, 5 rbds, 1 blk in 13 minutes

Burks is clearly better than Bell. With him and Hayward that will solve alot of Harris not passing as much (did have 6 ast tonight though)
Favors and Kanter together really appeared to dominate the paint but Bogut was out
All in all I liked what I saw and got excited for the future.

No doubt he was impressive on the offensive end but on defense he made Gooden look like an all star. Gooden had 7 offensive rebounds. And almost all were when Jefferson was on him. When Kanter was on, he at up all the glass.

Agree with you.

SO I know this is a small sample size, but in a game the Jazz won by 12 pts, only one player had a negative +/-. Nope, not CJ. Nor one of the rookies. It was our shut-down defender, Raja.

And how about that 3-pt defense of ours!!! Holding the Bucks to .095%. Somewhere, Sloan is saying..."see, I told you NBA players can't hit from there consistently. That's why I taught my guys never to defend it."

Burks is the most offensively skilled player in our team, and im sure he will be better in time, but he has to work on 3 things, free throws, 3 pointer threat, and defense. Right now his defense is not good at all, he lose his position too quickly and cant recover in screens.

Not to mention Evans! 2 points in zero minutes. Haha.

As for Burks, he has shown his worth and Corbin has given him is due minutes. I hope Jazz fans will not complain anymore because although Raja is starting games, he does not get starters minutes. It is who finishes games that is more important in my book.

So Evans had ∞% for the game!

I am watching the feed from Fox Wisconsin and it's funny how the Bucks commentators make it sound as if the Jazz are a championship contender singing praises about Jazz "solid interior defense" and "half court offense". And it's way better than hearing Harpring harp on how the Jazz should foul more.
Yea, but did they say anything about fry sauce?

As lazy as Al was on the boards, and a little bit on the defensive end, he had a 26/10 & 3 stls/2blk game at 59% shooting. He didn't have an assist but was +11 just behind Favors (+12) and just above Burks (+10). Nobody's perfect, and he has flaws, but I don't think we win this game without him. I gotta give Al some love; he is a Jazzman after all.

Agreed. To be fair his effort was up in the first half and he probably got tired (hence lazy) in the second. But he has been on form since coming back from that ankle problem. We are going to need him this season as he is our only consistent scorer.

The Jazz's offense is pretty pathetic. They haven't been trying to do too many things these past 6 games, and they aren't doing any of them well.

Ty's distribution of minutes is starting to frustrate me, but I'll give him 4 or 5 more games to teach the youth a few more things before he makes some necessary adjustments (e.g. sit Raja forever).

They should have buried the Bucks tonight.

So to recap, even though the Jazz won, it was a "moral loss".

I was going to try and compliment Big Al. I wish there wasn't such a long list of "but what about" items. I will say that Al was aggressive on the O side of the ball. Almost all of his possitives were washed away by letting Gooden score at will out there.

Burks is the real deal. He's a rookie so it's easy to overlook his mistakes. He's going to be a player. Looking forward to his progress.

Hayward started to come out of his shell in the last 4 min. That was great to see.

Favors, Kanter and Millsap played well. Fun to watch.

I think things will come together in a month or two. We should be in the race for a play off spot when the season ends.

Why does Cj do so many dumb things on the court. He does an interview, he's well spoken, and has good insight about other players, what needs to happen on the court. Why is he so dumb on the court?
