Misc Notes:

Cleveland is a shocking 4-3. Well, it's shocking to me.
They will have probably fell to 4-4 after tonight (Sunday 1/8/12) being on the road in Portland. They will have a day of rest before the Jazz game.
Super duper #1 pick Kyrie Irving is averaging 14 points and 5 assists.
Antoine Jamison, who seems like he's been in the league for an eternity, leads the team with 18 PPG.

That's it. Hope the Jazz can get 4 in a row. I loved the hell out of last night's win, even if it was against a lousy Warriors team and that the Jazz barely held on. You really feel like you can see the pieces of this team starting to fall together, even though I'm sure there will be plenty of bumps on the road along the way.

Sitting currently at 5-3, I see no reason we can't be at about 11-8, maybe 12-7, come the end of the month. But things get very tough after that and I find it highly unlikely that we make the playoffs. If I had to guess, we'll get somewhere around the 11th pick in the draft.

Maybe this wasn't the right thread to post such feelings but I was excited, decided to look up their schedule, and these were my initial thoughts.

I watched them play a couple of times. Jamison played great in those games and his shooting and ball-handling skills made huge impact on the game. One thing about Cavs' being 4-3 is their 3pt %. The Jazz, so far this season, looked like they want the opponent to take mid-range J's rather than 3's, except maybe GSW game, in which they occasionally -and unnecessarily IMO, doubled bigs and GSW got open look behind the arc. Only thing I'm afraid is Cavs' 3pt shooting.

I hope this fanz don't forget the positives that got us here ... when we have a rough patch .. it IS happening.

We should be able to dominate the paint with Millsap/Jefferson/Favors/Kanter vs Jamison/Varejao/Thompson/Samuels. If we bring our normal defensive effort, we should win.

Sounds like you're just making excuses for Corbin's inevitable suckitude.

I can't wait for this team to have another rough stretch. Then I can proclaim my expertise in predicting how bad the coach is.

Go Jazz!!

All I read is how bad Corbin is... Just curious what is you solution?

To me, Corbin is learning on the fly and has done a good job this year. What do you really expect/want from him this year? If he loses he sucks, if he wins he's not playing X player. Pretty much he is in a lose lose with people like you. I mean did Sloan suck? He didn't play DWill right off the bat and sat Stockton behind Rickey for years. He also coached a team to a 42-40 record that some thought they may break the worst record ever.

Some people are just not happy and pessimist I guess.

I agree Cope, though it was Layden who sat Stockton behind Green.

I'm pleased with Ty this year. Plus it's nice to have a coach who seems to be animated, though I wish he'd pick up a tech once (not at Sloan levels per se) after the team gets jobbed by the refs.

Your sarcasm meter needs fixing. I support Ty.
