What's new

Game Of Thrones

That's why I haven't started. I don't want to wait on a book. Did that for 10 years for 1 series already. I'll wait till it is as far as it will probably get then read them.
What series?

What series?

Wheel Of Time, it is a fantasy series. First book came out in 01/1990 and the final one in 2013. 23 years later. 15 total books with the finale 3 written by a different author because the original author died. Final 3 books had outlines and some writing done by the original author and the replacement author finished them.

Probably my favorite book series of all time.

I see.
The Dark tower series started in 1982 and finished in 2004 so I know the feeling.

Not to take anything from Dany' scene, it was cool but it seems like the show is trying to jump to the big event after big event and isn't focusing what goes between them. It could get pretty tiring to one-up previous big scene.

Yeah, I recently started the Dark Tower because I realize he finished it. I've wanted to read it since JR High but wanted to make sure King finished it first.

Did you know they are making a Dark Tower movie? The cast looks strong.
Ya I have been waiting for years. They have had ideas for directors and actors and production companies. I think they are getting it right for the most part. I like Matthew mcconahey as the bad guy. (Don't click the spoiler if you don't want the book spoiled )
the man in black, Walter o dim, maerlyn, randall flag, richard fannin, etc etc

I think idris elba is a great actor and will do a good job but major plot points are about roland being a white man and how that produces a struggle in the early relationship between him and other certain characters (don't want to spoil too much).

I had heard russell crow was going to play the lead at one point. That would have worked too.

Idris elba will kill it though. He is awesome.
I can't wait.

Stephen king also has another movie coming out for his book Cell. (One of my favorites) it has john cusak and Samuel L Jackson in it. I look forward to that one too.

I just read that the dark tower movie will take place after the end of book 7 so it is not an adaptation of any of the books. It will have its own story based off the books.
That's pretty cool. Almost like getting another book..... More story.

I wonder if that's the same explanation for Hodor that we'll get in the books?

So, the real question is this:

Now that we know that Bran can affect the past, thereby affecting the future, what else does he change? Does this affect anything else, or just a convenient way to kill of Hodor and hit us in the feels?

Also, who survives all this? Doesn't it seem like only of Daenerys or Snow will survive? It would be too happy if they both lived. Who sacrifices themselves to save Man from the White Walkers? Also, the dragons have to come in dramatically at the end and fry the White Walkers, no? That has to be the whole point, doesn't it? Daenerys dies, dragons go on a rampage, then fly off to the North never to be seen again. Snow takes the Throne. OR, does Snow and Daenerys fall and Sansa takes over the throne? She seems to have grown a head on her shoulders after last night.

Oh, and I hope Captain Phasma hooks up with that wild-ling guy. Their babies would be the ultimate warriors.

There is a huge part of the story that the show hasn't even hinted at, but I assume it'll play large in the finale of the books.

Arya's direwolf is still out there. In the books Arya has wolf dreams and her wolf is the alpha of a huge pack of regular wolves that have been scavenging the battlefields eating dead soldiers and the like.

Arya's storyline is starting to bore me to tears.

The White Walkers seem super easy to kill as long as you have the right equipment. That girl (I forget her name) just threw a spear at one of them and he shattered.

I hope Tyrian takes the throne tbh.
