What's new

Game Of Thrones

I need remaining sand snake boobies. Or at least the 2nd red preistess. Sadly neither seem likely.

Yeah, Tyene is already poisoned and chained. Little hope of it happening. Might as well re-watch here scene where she is teasing Bronn.

Best boobs on the entire show imo.

(Missandei best overall package of face, ***, boobs, etc though)

He's a spineless wimp. Should have died like a dumbass, whats the quote about the way your life ends only matters when end is all that is left?
Fixed

Living > dying imo.

One could argue that's it more cowardly and spineless to just give up and commit suicide (what he would have been doing if he doesn't jump ship) than to keep trying to survive.
Staying on that boat would have been the easy way out..... especially for someone that has been through what he has.

I know I would be scared as **** to jump into the ocean surrounded by dead bodies, burning ships, and enemies out in the middle of no where.

I would probably rather die a quicker death from a sword or something than drown/starve/die of thirst.

We can solve this conundrum with a simple fishing trip... Contrast what Theon Hayward did with what Ned Stark would have done and in fact did when he fought that Arthur Dayne bloke (the dude called the Sword of the Morning... chuckles...) knowing he would likely be killed but fought for the honour of his sister. These are the very essence of the lordly values of chivalry, that's the sort of dude I'd wanna fight next to.

I think he jumped because the last time he was captured all the torture happened. That is probably what he thought about.

I wouldn't think he is scared to die as much as he is being captured by someone as crazy as Euron.

She is getting rescued, or they are at least leaving that door open. The fact that Cersei talks about the high variance of the time the poison takes to work makes it obvious.

I need to make myself a TV room away from the kids so I can watch shows like this again. Most I watch takes like 10 hours an episode because it's not considered appropriate for children.

How is GoT compared to, say, Dexter anyway? Good, great, mediocre?

GoT is so much better it's not even funny. But that's just my (100% correct) opinion.

Thanks. I can't decide whether to just watch it or read the books first.

Keep in mind that the last book might very well never get finished before the author expires. Takes him a decade per book.

ie not Gordon Hayward

Dexter is very entertaining but GoT >>>>>> Dexter and it's not even close.

It's the only show I've considered being better than The Wire.

Read books 1-3. Then watch the show. Then see what people are saying about book 6 before deciding if you want to read books 4-5.

Books 4 and 5 were originally supposed to be one book, but it started getting ridiculously long. The way the books are written you get a chapter from the perspective of one of the main characters. Then the next chapter checks in on another character. So on.

Books 1-3 are well paced books with plenty of juicy bits.

When book 4 started getting way too long GRRM decided to split them up. He introduced a few new characters and basically just put one group of characters in book 4 then a separate group of characters in book 5 and the books are largely on parallel timelines. Obviously book 4 is shifted a little earlier and book 5 a little later, but there is significant overlap.

In books 4 and 5 GRRM gets REALLY bogged down as many of the main characters are on extended journeys all over the world. Trying to get someplace, trying to find someone, trying to escape, etc. The books (4 and 5) feel very much like everyone is just chasing their tails and never getting anywhere. There is a lot of important stuff that happens, a lot of good story, much of which the show has altered or cut out, but there's a lot of slogging through tediously chronicled journeys that makes them a bit of a chore to read.

I'm wondering if books 6 and 7 are being written much like books 4 and 5. If he is writing a lot of book 7 now. I actually really hope so for the sake of book 7 being released, but no one knows.
