What's new

Game Thread: Chicago Bulls @ Utah Jazz, 11/24/2014, 7pm MST

People coming down on kanter pretty hard... He had 19 and 8... Sure he had a couple crappy moments but if any one person is to blame its Hayward. He had six points on poor shooting and his guy went for 25.

Technically he was Burks man, but alright.

*Dunleavy is starting SF and Butler is SG*

This was a game of such emotional rollercoaster. I was furious and then fully wilted in the first then elated with the comeback and hopes high... then to lose only to be heart broken. Well now that I've recovered, it was definitely entertaining!

It was a good game from Burkes and Kanter. I'm so excited (and at times so ticked) at Kanter, but at least he's progressing. Burkes too. I'm not talking about his shooting only, but certainly, that is huge.

Pause, imagine a year or two from now with some growth of ALL of our players... I do see good things :-)

Until Kanter becomes a better passer out of the post, I doubt it will happen that much. Kanter just doesn't move the ball fast enough to please Snyder. Same ish with Gobert, but on a more extreme note because Gobert can't space the floor or catch passes.

Thats right, but if you have Gasol, Noah or Mirotic playing the post against, you do not really need to pass it out. I loved Al for never giving a **** and just keep working down low. Everything was better than Trey making crazy passes and taking long twos the last few possesions. And I do not want to blame Trey, because he was great tonight.

Last two possessions were what we wanted. Favors open at the free throw line is a good shot and Hayward lined up on that three.

i was talking about 2 key possessions that we messed up on. trey to kanter fumble and trey missing the jumper. just not a good time for those 2 plays.

We should have tried to tie the game in the last possession...I don't agree with Quin's choice to try the 3 with a player that was cold all the night! Draw a tactic for an easy two with Kanter or Favors and hope for the overtime.

I would like to see Enes taking the last shot in a close game at least once...we still don't know if he is a clutch player or not!

He was a draft workout warrior, but a good example of a player that can't use it in game.

guys like that is only useful when they come in and make shots. i guess he can do that here and there, but just doesn't look like he will be a consistent contributer

Butler was killing Hayward tonight, but Ingles played tough against him. I have to give him credit, it´s not easy to play defense against players like this. Ingles played like a Man and he got his nerves.

i'm so impressed with butler. i always liked him, but i never thought he would become a borderline all star. he killed us tonight. we are lucky drose didn't play alot of minutes. trey abused brooks in that 3rd qtr.

exactly. he played like 8-9 min and he absolutely did nothing. you can't earn playing time when you don't do anything in the court. lol

I don't think he can go left at all. NBA scouting can expose and destroy you if there is a hole in your game like that.
We're kind of seeing it with Burks this year. He is not a particularly good jump shooter, and also a reluctant jump shooter. Now that he is a starter scouts have focused in on him. Every defender gives him an extra 4 feet of space.

I was really impressed with Quinn's play. Got us a wide open 3 against one of the best defensive teams in the league.

I give credit at Quin allowing Kanter driving to the rim, with the ball in his hands. He is improving, because he gets the chance to showcase his skillset. Kanter always was able to move like this, even when he was 17 or 18 years old. He just never got the opportunity to improve these skills on the court. Allowing Kanter to make inbound passes, giving him green light for 3 point shots, thats really great.
But, reducing his touches in the post, is not a good move. He needs to bang down low, thats the nature of his game.

Also it was a terrible move by Corbin reducing Kanter´s game at playing down low. Kanter always was a good shooter, the last two years he as solid. Because right now he is shooting with confidence. Most of Kanters struggles is due to confidence, he will improve he just needs time...

Chicago is a great defensive team. There is no such thing as an "easy two." It was an open look; I have no problem with the shot.

He is actually faster than Favors when he drives. More out of control though.
