What's new

Game Thread: Clippers @ Jazz, 7 p.m.

Well considering that we don't have Favors tonight, No. If Sap or Al get into foul trouble this game could turn ugly fast.

Damn, I forgot about this too.
But why not start Millsap at the 3, and start Kanter as well?
Between Millsap, Jefferson, Kanter, Hayward, and Evans..... both the PF and SF positions can be managed. Especially defensively.

Hence the Jazz tinted glasses. The point is Clipper are way, way more talented than we are right now. We could still beat them tonight. But I wouldn't count on it.

True. But The Clippers are not a very deep team and with Paul and Williams out their starters are playing extended minutes. This is also the first tail end of a back-to-back that they've played on the road. So we really don't know what we're gonna see tonight.

Not a cake walk by any means; but like you said we can still win it.

That is why that is the view through the Jazz tinted glasses.

Though suprisingly at this point in the season- Millsap PER 25.95 and Griffin PER 23.08. So right now Millsap > Griffin

Can't believe it, but I somewhat agree with this. Obviously if I had to pick one to have on my team it would be Griffin, purely for entertainment purposes. However, Millsap has blown me away with how good he has become. I was one of the ones clamoring for KOC to trade him on draft day or just before this season while his stock was high, as I considered him to be an above average role player who physically just couldn't be anything more than that.

The guy is a beast, and I really think he could be a top 20 player in the league if he keeps this up. He absolutely destroyed Gasol who has at least 5-6 inches on him. It's pretty freakish what he's been able to do to his game since we drafted him.

As far as the matchup tonight, Griffin will probably put up a very aesthetically pleasing 20/10 (while playing awful defense - and throwing in a dozen or so pointless dribbles through his legs as he loves to do), while Millsap will probably put up a rather bland 26/9.

The Clippers are obviously more talented, but the Jazz are playing with alot of confidence and playing at home, that will be enough to compete with the Clippers for most of the night.

Also, Al Jefferson could have a huge game tonight. Last year, for whever reason, he seemed to shoot poorly against Kaman but had a game in LA where he torched DeAndre Jordan. Jump hooks/push shots and face-up jumpers right in DeAndre's face. Could've been a 1-game fluke, but something to keep an eye on.

Yeah, this is definitely the matchup to watch.

Millsap should also be able to have his way.

I think our victory is pinned, primarily, to their shooting percentages.

What do you all think: is this a game where we slow down the pace and try to keep their circus lob show slow, or do we run on offense since we're so much deeper?

Clippers indeed have the edge for this game but I won't be surprised either if we pull out the win.

Howard is going really be missed tonight. Caron Bulter doesnt get talked about for the clippers but hes having a great year and a huge part of their team. Hes big and strong and will give Hayward a lot of trouble and could easily get Hayward in foul trouble. All the clipper sfs are big and strong so it will be interesting to see how our guys handle it.

The more Howard misses the better for the future. More minutes for Hayward and Burks is a good thing. If Burks is the real deal, Hayward will have to play the 3 and guard guys like Butler.

Made a few adjustments to the minute weight. Players rank should be the same, the values are just scaled out more, giving more value to players with larger differentials.

Too bad no Favors. He would be a good matchup for Jordan. It'll be another good test for the Jazz; they'll need to control the tempo in this one, too. (Which means another **** game for Harris).

Is your sig a bunch of Sage?? I use the stuff for everything from turkey-marinating to tea. If I'm wrong, then this is quite embarrassing.

I think most people would disagree with you on the Clippers having the edge. Vegas for sure disagrees with you and so do I.

Can someone fill me in here? Harris is not playing? Why?
And what happened with Favors? is he hurt? Playing? What exactly happened the other night?
