Game Thread: Grizz @ Jazz Nov. 14th 2016

It can heal up. Plenty of players have had broken fingers that heal during the season. The splint he has on should do a good job. I am guessing it will be off in a couple weeks unless he has rebroke or agitated it, which could happen. If it is being constantly agitating it then it wont heal properly and be a bigger issue but I doubt they would be letting that happen.

As much as we want Hill back I would make sure he is properly healed. A wrist is easy to resprain or agitate and sprains usually take at least 6 weeks to properly heal. I doubt they keep him out that long though. I think they will bring him back early and hope it doesnt get hurt again, that seems to happen more often with wrist and ankle sprains.

But to be honest I leave injury stuff to better people than me. I deal with healthy people mostly or at least with doctors during the recovery process.

He didnt sprain his wrist though. He sprained his thumb.

Who had proved to be injury prone before being signed to any contract? Dont talk out your ***.

favors just off the top of my head has missed significant time with back spasms (on-going for multiple seasons), plantar fasciitis (2 or 3 times), knee problems, it band syndrome, etc etc. alecs shoulder, leg, ankle. not saying there was premonition or that the org had awareness of the issues, just saying that it is starting to appear that it may the reality of the situation.

Lmao. Last year was the most games missed in his career. Before that the most he had missed in a season was 10

The Jazz haven't signed anyone with significant injury history. Alec's major surgeries came after his extension and Favors has never had major surgery and before last year never missed more than 10 games in a season.

He didnt sprain his wrist though. He sprained his thumb.

A sprained thumb may be just as bad or even worse.

I sprained my thumb once by holding onto a railing while slipping on an icy step. Probably similar to how Hill had his thumb bent backwards on that play. Also known as skier's thumb. Mine was bad enough that for a few days I didn't have the strength to hold a nail in place with my forefinger. If that's what his injury is then he had no grip at all.

Mine took at least 6 weeks to heal.

This is a real bummer to think much less say out loud...type out loud. But it's accurate. The Jazz cannot and have not caught a break in quite a while.

Lol. Could be law of averages catching up. For 20 something years this team was mainly healthy. Even when Stockton and Malone were injured they had an amaizing ability to pay through pain and play as if they were 100%. Hell, Malone seemed at his best when it was questionable and seemed unlikely he'd play, then he'd go off for 30/15 or something like that.

I dont think favors is ever going to be able to stay healthy.

Gobert should have been in at the end. I heard on the radio that quin benched him because he was trying to light a fire under rudy. Dumbass. Rudy dont need someone else to light a fire under him. Gobert is the last person that you need to try to motivate. Might have cost us an important game.

I have to confess that Dante Exum is really really starting to make me think im going to look like an idiot for being a hater. Its still early and he still hasn't shown all that much but that speed and length is super legit. He shows me a few things every game that makes me all hot and bothered. I have always thought that his ceiling was a decent starter. Now I have elevated it to great starter. If he continues on the same trajectory then my ceiling for him will grow to all star. Really really liking what im seeing from exum.

Nice to see Lyles break out of his slump. I never worry about him anymore, im certain that he is a stud, but its nice to see him break that slump anyway. (i have done a complete 180 on him since he was drafted. Hated that pick so much and now he is one of my favorites)
Gonna be a tough decision on whose jersey to get next out of exum or lyles.

Go with Exum. Lyles will piss you off with his Boozer-esque defense years to come.

Damn, that was a crazy game. Memphis just hits the huge clutch shots like they did against us. Conley had a dribble pull up 3 on Griffin to break a tie down the stretch just like he had one on Joe Ingles.
