Nice try. Anyone watching this game can clearly see Exum is an upgrade over Mack. Yes, you'll get some lapses from Exum but his athleticism and length far outweigh anything Mack gives you.
 
gotta keep reminding myself we are playing one of the most talented rosters in NBA history on over a week's worth of rest.
 
Down 12 at the half. Clean up the turnovers. Slow the pace. Get key stops. Score on the other end. Play smart, Jazz basketball and they climb back into the game. I'm good with them open g up the intensity and physicality in the 2nd half too. Need to get Steph out of his rhythm. The whole team goes as he goes. Play an inside game and dominate the glass. Get second chances and take away their 2nd chance opportunities.

Because Mack gives you nothing in that lineup other than someone gsw can exploit on both ends of the floor. You can't hide him, he can't shoot, and he's outsized.

We won't see that lineup again in the series and there is no reason QS needs to go to it. He was being cute and he got bit.

I'm not saying play him over Mack. Tbh I dont think it matters. These games aren't going to be won or loss by the backup pg. I think Mack does some things well against them. He got two wide open layups off dribble penetration and I have yet to see any other Jazz player do so.

Ofc exum plays better D, but he hurts the Jazz in half court offense. If he isn't making defensive plats or working in transition he can hurt the offensive execution.

A good hard foul around the basket would make him think twice about all the prancing around the basket. You gotta kill his swagger. A good hard fair foul actoss the wrist will send him a message.

Hell, Draymond did exactly what I'm saying to Hayward a couple minutes ago but he just got mostly ball. If he had missed the ball, it would have been a hard foul on Hayward's wrists. Something gained both ways.

I thought it was just against CP3 but I think Exum is the better defender than Hill now Exum has recovered from his ACL surgery and Hill is slowing down. Although it's probably more that Exum is only playing in short stints and is going all out. He needs more minutes.

We are losing this game though because of stupid unforced mistakes. Jazz need to calm down and play their game.

I'm honestly surprised we're only down 12 with how bad we played that half. Cut down the turnovers and get back on defense and we're in this.
