Game Thread? Jazz @ Warriors. 2nd Round. 1st Game. (8:30 MT 5/2/17)

lol so you wont call parrish, the 9 time all star who finished 4th in MVP voting in 82, who was on that "50 greatest" players list, who helped lead his team to 4 championships, isnt a franchise player... lmao.

mahorn was a third or 4th wheel on that team, and i admitted he wasnt a HOFer, but he was one of the top defensive players in the league for several years and a terrific compliment to the multiple other HOFers on that team.

Your argument is that those teams with 3+ HOFers aren't super teams, yet the cavs with 1 HOF and 2 middling all-stars IS a super team? How am i supposed to take anything you say from this point on seriously?

about as seriously as i take you for throwing out Danny Ainge as a component of a superteam lol The Chief didn't do anything great without Larry Bird. He never even averaged 20 PPG even with him. Terrific player yes, no.1 dominanat franchise player no. The Cavs are certainly arguable sure, i'm not huge on Love but he did average 26 ? and 14 or some crazy numbers as clearly Minnys no.1 Same with Kyrie.

you can have a difference of opinion without having to revert to being a salty cantankerous carnt too btw .. try it sometime.

Joe Dumars was pretty Ok, Mark Aguirre wasn't a slouch either (should probably be in the hall) and that young whipper snapper Dennis Rodman had some chops as well.

mark aguirre's post game was awesome that trade for him midseason the first title year really propelled them on. Good point.

Don't be dumb. Hayward is an all-star and a deserving one. Just because he isn't Durant doesn't take that away.

All-star yes, but people here think Hayward is a superstar, which he is clearly not. We need a superstar like Durant to have a chance at winning a championship.

Name one person who thinks and claims Hayward is a super star. People have said he has had games he played like a super star but no one has claimed him to be on the same level as Durant. He is a great player, he is around a top 25 player but not a top 10 and definitely not one of the top 2-3 players.

lol ok lets go get one of them shall we ? should be pretty easy to pick one up down the local mall

Joe Dumars was one of the best guards in the NBA during that era. He was a 6-time NBA All-Star, Was on the All-NBA team 3 times, NBA-All-Defensive Team 5 times, Finals MVP. If you think Isiah Thomas was the only true star on the team, that tells me you never actually watched the Bad Boys. Dumars was one of the few players ever, to consistently give Michael Jordan fits defensively.

ffs you're missing the point. Dumars was a star. Franchise type player ? no I'm talking about franchise players leaving their teams and teaming up to form a "superteam"

Durant demonstrated to Hayward what a real star looks like.

7-17 and 17 total points is a star type game to you?

After watching the game as I got home after work, it was painful to see Mack's defending.

I'm not one to usually pick on players but dang, I felt a little disgusted with his defensive effort. He looked lost and also looked like he had a pair of 10 pound juicy steaks on each of his feet, trying to chase his man.

For the record, I don't dislike Mack, in fact I think he has helped the team out on occasions throughout the season.

It seems to me that the Warriors are the exact wrong team to play uptempo against and the exact right team to force them to play 24 seconds of half court defense. The best way to mitigate an unstoppable offense of the opponent is minimizing how many possessions they get, right? Also running after a grueling 7-game series with a hobbled center and a rested opponent seems like an odd strategy.

Very true - only problem is The Warriors are capable of playing 24 seconds of defense on virtually every possession.

Lol. Right on man. Love and Irving >>> Robert Parrish.... He had teams Like this one... Larry Bird and four other Hall of Famers in players like Dennis Johnson, Robert Parish, Bill Walton, and Kevin McHale.

But that's not a super team because Parrish isn't a franchise player right? Even though he was in the MVP race multiple times and was one of the best players in the league in that era.

If he looked like he was running with 10# steaks on each foot, then Diaw ,JJ and Ingles looked like they had 5# steaks on their sneekers as well. These 4 looked slow the 1st game.Been my fear this is what we'd see in the playoffs ,the older guys can keep it close by all their experience and maybe steal a game or two like the Clipper series but their toast to the speed of Golden State. It's time for Exum and Lyles to get significant playing time and see if Snyder has them ready for Primetime.

Compared to Hayward's stat line, yes.

Also, Durant was tied for the 2nd highest points scored for the game.
You and I differ on what star numbers in the playoffs look like I guess.
I would say neither durant or hayward played like stars.

Isiah Thomas? Yes. John wall? Yes. Kahwi leonard? Yes. Lebron? Yes. They looked like stars in their games imo.
