GAME THREAD: Los Angeles Lakers vs. Utah Jazz

This is what ESPN has to say about the game

ESPN controls the minds of most "sports" fans via "back,Back, back" home run calls, endless re-runs of slam dunks by superstar players etc. They set the tone for what is acceptable, cool and what's irrelevant in sports in America. The Utah Jazz are irrelevant. If they win an NBA championship some day, they will still be irrelevant. Its about money.

The first two threes by Kobe were over Howard. Bell was on the bench.

You can also only stop Kobe to a certain extent. The point to guarding Kobe is too make everything as hard as possible and force him into bad/difficult shots. I think everyone did a good job guarding him. He is going to make shots.

Per Grandpa, ESPN is about hype and bluster to a large media audience. Utah sports are too small and too rational compared to the daily soap opera that is the Knicks, Lakers and Clippers.

Teams that should be getting covered are OKC, Indy, Phily, Denver, etc., not just the Jazz.

It also helps if your team has a big personality on it, but the Jazz don't go out of their way to draft those fortunately.

Wow quiet game thread, it was nice to see the bench step up and play well but it did have me nervous when they couldn't extend the lead when Kobe and Gasol sat in the 2nd qtr.

For Worthy or any Laker to complain about the refs is an absolute joke, did they let a few go or, miss some or call it slightly different down the stretch? Maybe, however LA got the majority of the calls all night hence the FT discrepancy and at one point in the 4th Kobe had around 4 less FT's then the entire Jazz team and that was including the 3 or 4 Tech's so not actually calling shooting fouls against LA.
So for the record they can drink my bawls (been awhile since I've used that)
