What's new

Game Thread: OKC @ Utah. 7pm MST

For the longest time on these boards I refused to refer to Jerry Sloan as "Sloan" or "Coach Sloan". I always called him "COY", partly because I was tired of all the hate he was getting on the boards and partly because it was an honor he had deserved and never gotten.

I'm really tempted to start calling Quinn COY after tonight. Because for that shining moment, he deserved it.

This is a game we definitely should have won. I look forward to the Golden State game. I watched the Warriors crush the Clippers earlier this season and was impressed. David Lee won't be playing but it'll be a tough, tough game.

Whats the rule for coaches getting techs? I find it interesting that he got one for yelling at his team, not at the refs. Maybe cause we walked pretty far over?

He got the tech before he started yelling at his team.

Just finished watching the game, and lol. I found that coach Q and I have about the same boiling point. Lol. My tirade was a little more rated R.

Anyways, I'd like to throw major props to three players.

First, and because he's on my fantasy team. Burks finally went back to bing the Burks I know and love. He was aggressive and got to the line and grabbed those boards like a mo-fo.

Second Burke after the first quarter looked great. He found a **** load of easy open looks for Favors and Kanter, and that crossover near the paint was sick, just sick. He was aggressive and drove the lane and was just a playmaker he was one of the keys to us coming out of that 17 point deficit. He was a real leader out there tonight.

Third.. Major props to Kanter. He is really improving his defense. He will never be mistaken for a stud defender, but he's improved his D every game over the las 5 games. Last year during the first month of that year I remember thinking that Burks had regressed to the point, that I thought he was literally playing himself out of the league, and I have to admit I was thinking the same about Kanter. Over time Burks figured it out, and think Kanter may be starting to figure things out as well.

Overall I know it's OKC with all the key injuries, but I'm so proud of those guys turning it around. And anyone notice Boler calling Kanter Favors. Lol

Major props to Trey. Truly stellar night after a slow start. I sincerely hope I was wrong about him, because if he can play like he did in quarters 2-4 on a consistent basis, Jazz are going to be good.

And like Thee Jazz Fan said, Kanter has really started to play well. He had a strong road trip and continued that tonight. In a game where Hayward and Favors were not carrying the team, Kanter, Burks, and Burke stepped up (Exum too). What an amazing game. I'm just glad I didn't throw my shoe through the TV when the Jazz went down by 17.

Warriors MIGHT be the best team in the league right now. That will definitely be a tough one
