Game Thread: Suns @ Jazz 7PM MT Friday

Hayward looked defeated all night. Smacking his hands together, cursing, hanging his head, just looking like he didn't know what the heck was going on all night out there. It was hard to watch him.

nothing in the game was easy to watch. I've always wondered why PnR is so easy for any team besides the Jazz

He's hard to coach.

Ty told me so.

What I'm saying is, I'm fine with getting a higher draft pick. I'm fine with a lot of losses. But not like this, where people just don't look like they have any confidence or like they're putting in much of an effort.

You think or thought being a ****ty team would be easy?

Want a tip?

Root against the Jazz. Most of the time I want to see how big of a deficit we can rack up. how many consecutive pts we give up without calling a timeout. how many times we can get burned by the same play/player. how much dumber our lineups can become (this game Corbin unleashed the Biedrins! Yes!) and how many times Hayward/Burks go one on one and chuck up some crappy shot.

It's literally the only way I can stand to watch this crap.

If there's anybody still defending Corbin, this game tonight settled it once and for all.

Two young, inexperienced teams chosen to finish in the bottom five... yet the Suns (chosen to finish dead last) are overachieving and may contend for a playoff spot. Even if they don't, Hornacek is bringing out a lot from this rag-tag group and they could have as many as four first round picks in next year's unprecedented draft. The Suns are without a doubt on the upswing.

The Jazz, projected by many to finish 5th to last, are in fact DEAD last. This team is sloppy, appears to have no direction, doesn't click well as a team, players repeatedly make the same mistakes, the young talent is not being developed the way it should be, mediocre vets still getting playing time for some reason, I could go on and on and on. It was painfully obvious tonight, as blatant as could be. Jeff Hornacek was clowning Ty Corbin all night long.

If you watched this game and still have any excuses for Ty, nothing in this world can fix what's wrong with you.

That being said, I know tanking for a star is what's best for this team long-term, so what the hell... keep Corbin around for the rest of the season because any other team is hard pressed to out-tank us as long as we've got Corbin running the show. It's just painful to see what a great up and coming coach we could have had in Hornacek, instead we're stuck (for now) with bone head Corbin.

In all honesty, I can't imagine what it would be like to root for this team to win.

How refreshing to see a well coached team get the most out of his talent...too bad the Jazz never had a shot at a coach like that.

The backcourt defensive problems make Kanter and Favors even worse. They really can not stop or even make slowier guards one and one, so when they got passed, it's so hard to rotate to cover them for big guys without fouls. Add the facts of Kanter's no instict and no lateral quickness, it's automatic pain to watch. Burke's an undersized rookie trying to be aggressive but generally not good enough to defend, Jefferson was defending well when he was playing in Nets against champion Pistons in playoffs and Hayward is in mood to run and get away of interviewers.

Also, i really do not know what Corbin made with this team in the off season. They really do not know what's going out there.
Will we switch after PnR or not?
Guard will pass under the screen or not?
The forward and guards will direct the opponent to the baseline side or let big guys meet them in the middle and pack them?
The rotation decision (whike Kanter is sucking and we were not able to defend anyone no Gobert? Less min for Favors? no let Gordon breath and watch him sucking over sucking?)

Did you watch ksl? They did a special on Hornacek. Supposedly he gets angry and throws stuff like clipboards when players don't play hard or execute like they're supposed to. He channels his inner "Jerry."

How dare he. Doesn't he know that he should "love his team?" And if they lose it's, "just one game?" I personally hate tough minded demanding coaches. Phx is going nowhere fast....

Lotto standings:

1 Utah
2 Milwaukee
3 New York
4 Brooklyn
5 Cleveland
6 Sacramento
7 Philadelphia
8 Orlando
9 Detroit
10 New Orleans
11 Minnesota
12 Golden State
13 LA Lakers
14 Memphis

According to DX, that means the Jazz draft:

1. Andrew Wiggins
12. Montrezl Harrell

Other names still available at 12 include:

Wayne Selden SG
James Young SF
Glenn Robinson SF
Andrew Harrison PG

Overall I'd say it's been a good night to be a Jazz fan.

Not good enough.

I want 3 picks. Maybe with 3 lotto picks or 2 lottos and 1 first rounder, a solid FA class, and a new coach.

Personally, I really like that Louisville guy. Harrell. I know he always leaves me satisfied. Very entertaining. Long and very athletic. Although... I do wonder if he's tall enough for the league? He might kind of a repeat of Jeremy Evans but with a decent jumper? Hmmm...

Maybe go with the Kansas SG, Selden? We need someone that can shoot. Does Robinson have to be a SF? I thought they played him there because Hardaway was there last year? I thought he would eventually be a SG in the league. I remember in the tournament last year he looked to me like he could be a SG with great leaping and shooting ability. He also had great chemistry with Trey Burke.

Corbin has lost this team. It's pretty obvious.

He's "lost" this team in the same way that I've "lost" my Ferrari collection. (Hint: I never had it)

Lack of execution at this point of the season is either poor coaching and/or unintelligent players. I'm taking the over on "and".

I'm going with poor coaching.

When you're going to lose 60-70 games or more. It's not going to be pretty.

What player cracks first and goes publicly against Ty?

Trey Burke.

Hayward, Favors and Kanter aren't strong enough mentally.

The vets all know they are lucky to be playing so much, so they will keep quiet.

Burks might be the first to crack, but we won't hear about it. He will be traded first if that were about to happen.

Personally, I think the Morgan Jewlers Diamond play of the game should be Burks shot.

And why the hell does ESA play "Stand By Me" after every loss (game)?

Do they not realize that by playing that song it only makes the franchise look even more desperate and clueless? You don't fight anger and pity with even more pity. That just ticks off fans and makes you look dumb.

That Jazz franchise really looks bad. If I were a player I'd be angry over the "Stand By Me" song by itself. Forget the crappy play, coaching staff, or losses. Just playing "Stand By Me" in desperate attempts to "brainwash" the fans would tick me off. We're not 3 years old (even though the franchise obviously thinks we are).

Playing "Stand By Me" won't make fans forget Corbin's lack of coaching ability, Burks lack of shooting, Kanter's lack of everything, etc.

And in three years, when Parker/Wiggins is helping us contend for titles, the fans will be singing Lindsey's praises.
