And one more thing - I wish we had a big with the skill, size and defense of Bogut! Damn that Warriors team is constructed beautifully.

Jerry West had a hand in the team construction. Their guards are the best floor spacers in the league. They draw double-teams 25 feet from the hoop.

Then they've got a bunch of 6'7" - 6'8" players that are interchangeable defensively--Barnes, Green, Iggy, Livingston.

#garbagetime
Was kanter the only player in the court in garbage time?

If it's so easy to play well in garbage time then there should be a bunch of our guys that put up great numbers last night right?

The way to beat the Warriors is the exact same as it was in 07, 97, and 87... Pound the hell out of them inside.

They always seem to have outstanding guard play. Whether it be Mullen, Baron and the gang, or the Splash Bros. Bogut, is the game changer. I can't remember the last time they've had a defensive big like that. But he's only one man. Pound him inside, get him in foul trouble, score pts in the paint.

I didn't like our game plan. Had sloan employed Snyder's game plan in 07, GS would have had another sweep. Had Snyder employed Sloan's game plan, Kanter and Favors would have played 35+ mins and scored 60+ pts and 30+ rebounds combined. Kanter should have been our cbooz last night. Instead, I saw Kanter sit through long stretches.

Teams that don't hammer the Warriors inside will lose due to the insane amount of shooting they have out on the perimeter.

That is nice. Exum is so fast.

I would also like to see the Exum to Gobert alley oop from the second quarter. I was listening to the game and the fans in oracle gave an audible "ooooh!"

Edit: Found it! Amazing. Exum and Gobert have some good chemistry going on. They are the Future.

Yeah! It's 10 games in. Show me something already. I'm tired of these hints too. I mean **** he's going to be 20 soon.
You're misrepresenting what I said. I meant in the context of garbage time, it would be awesome to see what Exum is capable of when he no longer has to worry about making mistakes.

Since Kanter's offensive game has really exploded for the last two weeks I have found myself wondering why the coach plays him so few minutes and why he does not use Kanter more in the low post. The inside/out game that Sloan and even Corbin played works when you have a big that can score.

I can come up with some theories. First, I think Synder is trying to break old ball stopping habits where the ball was thrown into the low post. Big Al or Kanter would pound the ball for 14 seconds and then make a move. Sometimes breaking bad habits means you go the other extreme. Second, Kanter still is not the best passing big so when the ball goes to him in the post it really means he is going to shoot it; quick passes not going to happen with him down there. Third, sometimes when Kanter is on the low block he does not recognize double teams very well and has the ball stolen.

That being said, 70 percent of the league is now playing the stretch four. Kanter really has an advantage over some of the smaller guys. Kanter has also been the second best offensive threat for several weeks behind only Hayward. And, for the last couple games Hayward's shot has not been automatic. Synder needs to start mixing in plays to take advantage of Kanter's mismatches and good offensive play. Not all the time and not every game, but there are teams where the only way to win is going inside. We are not beating the Warriors in an outside shooting contest, we just aren't.

I think Snyder didn't play Kanter was because of green at the four. I think we should've taken that to our advantage though...

Correct me if I'm wrong... But wasn't Al Harrington or Steve Jackson guarding Boozer in 07? what looked like a terrible matchup for us, turned out to be a huge disadvantage for them.

We didn't have the athletes to beat the Warriors in 07. We certainly don't in 14-15. But we do have some bigs. If you can't out quick teams who are going small ball, then go big and try to bury them inside.

This is why the Grizz would rip up the Warriors. Yes, the Warriors would have some sweet runs. But in the end, that frontline would be just too much for the Warriors to handle.

The Jazz without a dominant wing (Lebron, Kobe, KD, etc) will never beat some of these better teams without establishing a low post presence. As much as his league has gone crazy for stretch 4s, all the best teams still have low post players (Duncan, Griffin, zbo/Gasol, Lamarcus, etc). The best way for us to win is Hayward in the midrange and Favors/kanter down low.

Weren't the Spurs originally interested in Gobert?

Could you imagine Gobert and Duncan playing together? The Twin Towers Reincarnated. No one would be able to score on them.

I do think Kanter was our best bet. He should have destroyed Barnes on the post, but his weak passing made him vulnerable to double teams and he turned the ball over 5 times.

We tried! We were trying to feed Kanter and Favors inside. We tried to bang against Bogut. Our bigs are just not good enough! They got shut down in the first quarter inside. Bogut got several stops when I could swear he fouled Favors but we never got a foul called. After that it looked like we just gave up...

From Locke: The Warriors were switching 1 thru 4 on all picks and the Jazz didn’t know how to react to this.

The loss is on Quin. Someone ripped up the Jazz script and they didn't have a teleprompter.
