What's new

Gamethread: Brooklyn @ Utah. 7:30 MST.

Really seems like we need to get an established PG going into next season. Otherwise somebody tell me why next season won't be complete deja vu? Good team, insanely inconsistent PG play, disappointing race for the 8th seed. Exum's up and downs will probably be just like Neto's this year. Mack ain't the answer.

I think Quin is an excellent communicator, a good motivator, but he is average at tactical level.

I think our problems run deeper than not having a good PG.

We try to model ourselves after the Spurs, but so much of the Spurs offense works because they have players that excel in making accurate, sharp, quick passes. Most of our players are actually quite bad at passing the ball. Passes are slow, mistimed, missing players' shot pockets. It's very ugly to watch.

It looked to me the plan was to throw the ball into Hayward in the post and have hood run off a screen, but they switch on the screen. Hayward had no choice but take the two. Looked as though Hayward looked first at hood. Hood couldn't get open.
Ya I agree.
They defended hood well on that play

Yeah. There's a lot of talk on how much Quin has the Jazz work on end-of-game scenarios in practice, but seems like all it's amounted to is a substantial waste of time.

We're down by 3 with 32 seconds left. We let 10 seconds go off the shot clock and then foul. Why?

We're down by 3 with 14 seconds left, with no timeouts, and draw up a play to go for 2 that takes 8 seconds to pull off. Why?

We apparently didn't have a backup plan if the Nets denied the ensuing inbound to Hayward. Either that or it was designed to go to Ingles if Hayward was denied... despite the fact that Ingles is the slowest player on the court and there's 6 seconds left. Regardless of which it was... Why?

They aren't a team of bad passers. They are young and impatient and rush getting out of control

Guys it could be worse. We could be the Knicks.
It could be worse?
I got to the bar at about 7 and quickly had 10 shots of sailor jerry. Jazz lost. I ordered 3 long islands soon after the loss.

Then my bro told me he would buy me a drink if I took three swallows of vinegar from the bottle. I did. Nearly puked.
Got anither long island out of it. Now gonna go take a hit of gonja.

Doesn't get any worse

Rock bottom

I don't think they rush. Quite the opposite - I think they are too indecisive.

The team passes more than almost any team in the league and has one of the lowest assist rates. Either the system sucks or the passes do.
