You never watched Smith then in his prime. He may have not been the most coachable player, not wanting to compromise his game, but he had a ton of natural IQ and vision.

I remember him in his prime... he averaged about the same amount of APG as he did turnovers... usually a pretty telling sign that his vision wasn't as great as you are recalling.
