Going inside then out is our bread and butter. And we have to attack. Good things happen with this formula.

favs is perfect on this team as a backup 5 getting 15-20 min/game, but he shouldn't be starting. ideally they can get a stretch 4 this or next season, have jae as a backup 4 or 3 if they go big, and favs as a backup 5 f he's not traded.

Favors comes in handy a lot. Jazz should constantly change their staring lineup and in game lineups based on matchups imo. They believe themselves to have built an extremely versatile roster, and they have enough info on this group of players to have some idea of what may work best for different situations and against the oppositions personnel.

Okay sure, but:

1 - Virtually no team tailors their starting lineup every game. Maybe ever.
2 - What Favors does is nowhere near $18 million and a chance to have signed someone else that currently plays for the Kings.

It doesn’t matter that no one else does it if it is a good idea and works. Especially if you believe the versatility of your roster to be one of your biggest strength/advantage. Other teams may then follow that lead.

Science is believing that previous trends exist for a reason. I think the only possible way Favors makes sense on this team if he's used 100% situationally, but that's not realistic, and again, not worth the headache that came with keeping him and paying him $18 million ****ing dollars.

In this scenario of him being a strictly-situational player, you pay him a fraction of what you pay now, and you fill that starting role with someone you're serious about. Considering Favors' market last offseason (virtually non-existent above the cap), and that the Jazz have their center and he knows it, they could've come to him with a take-it-or-leave it deal with a player option.

I may never stop ranting about this bull ****.

Making it in a competitive environment is about identifying and utilizing your comparative advantage
