George Hill fires agent - Hires new one before free agency

It's not exactly clear from this article:

http://www.vigilantsports.com/2017/06/29/george-hill-changes-representation-ahead-of-free-agency/

It seems the old guy was fired in December and his current agent didn't start representing officially him until Mid May. He may have been there unofficially of course.

I didn't catch this the first time I read it, but I think this sentence clears it up:

Hill informed secondary agent Michael Whitaker this month that he, too, had been terminated.

It says had been, not has been terminated. That leads me to believe there was a secondary guy who was, for some unknown reason, unaware of the December firing. So this really seems like a non-story IMO.

And the guy who started representing him in May has been his financial advisor for 10 years.

I bet George lost Millions by rejecting the offer. Zero chance hes getting more now then previously offered.

Not surprised. His agent advised him to turn down the extension and now the PG market has dried up.
The story says the agent was fired in December. But didn't Hill have until Feb to sign an extension? Maybe George thought he could represent himself and save the agent commissions. Doesn't take an agent if you're just signing a max deal, right?

But now he realizes someone has to go out and negotiate on his behalf and salvage whatever they can.
