What's new

GM #9: 11/12/2014 - Utah Jazz(3-5) @ Atlanta Hawks(3-3) [5.30 PM MDT, 7.30 PM ET and 1.30 AM CET]

Sidenote: our rebounding is garbage. Second straight game with unreasonable amounts of offensive reebs.

We could've easily lost this game by 30. I'm impressed that we were in it and I'm control that's good to see on the road. Now just gotta get more experience and learn to put games away. Last night the pacers have us a chance to get back in it and tonight the Hawks started 0-5 in the fourth.

Dang. That's what happens when you don't score in the last 4:33. Jazz really get tentative at the end of halves, especially when they have a lead.

A few positives:

- Kanter had a decent offensive game.
- Favors continues to be pretty solid, if not spectacular.
- Trey Burke with his highest assist total of the season, and he reduced his quick-trigger shooting for parts of the game. You know, part of the problem with Trey is that his ability to create or penetrate is limited, so he settles for jumpers too early. He had the same habit in college.
- Burks with a pretty good game.
- Gobert looked solid defensively when he played.
- Dennis Schroeder didn't make me wish we drafted him.

Does he also average 4 APG?

what Burke did tonight. Burke has had a nightmare start to the season, but not sure why we're crucifying him for tonight's performance. Garbage last shot, but that's on a play breaking.

just poor execution in the 4th. we need hayward to be our 'bailout' guy consistently in this situation. gotta demand the ball and attack. 4th qtr is where good team separates from the bad team. and we are not a good team.

I simply find him selfish for a point guard. He always appears like he's looking for his shot. Like every time down the floor, it looks like he'd rather just shoot the ball. Maybe it's all in my head, but that's what it always looks like to me. I'm not complaining about his bad shooting, because I'm sure it'll improve as the season progresses. But I think there is something un-jazz-like about his personality, and I'm not sure if it's fixable.

I wouldn't have a problem if Trey consistently played like he did tonight. He really didn't take many dumb shots...Burks took way more tbh, he just made his.

He took 4 more shots than he had assists tonight. Pretty much every one of his shots was open. Selfish isn't how I would describe him tonight.

Fix for positive outlook.

You don't like pull-up 20-footers with 15 seconds left on the shot clock?

Hahahhahahhahahhaha such an epic 4th quarter hahaah, PG_AB wins(again), I live for basketball season. My accuracy this year is the best its ever been.

I had visions of Korver being left wide open all day.

let the record show I bet on Atlanta to win that 4th quarter and the Jazz put up a single digit.

I think it's because the rest of his game is limited. That's why he looks for his shot. He needs a lot of space to work in, and if his lanes are blocked he just shoots. Of course, now teams are backing off him and daring him to shoot. So that doesn't help.
