Go get Bledsoe?

Would people have traded Favors, a similarly conditional 1st, & a future 2nd for Bledsoe? Not sure if it would've worked salary wise but seems comparable.

Personally, I'd prefer we go the other direction & reload with young talent but that doesn't seem to be the Utah way. So, while I don't like the fit, if the FO has decided to remain competitive & bank on DL hitting on another pick/acquisition, that would've been good value in my opinion.

Ultimately, I'd prefer we keep this year's pick as it will likely be our highest in the near future & hope DL is able to get Denver on the phone. But it should've at least been worth consideration. Curious what people think?

Are you the real Karl Malone?

Did you play for the Utah Jazz alongside John Stockton bro u know what I mean quit playin games with my heart

karl malone would never pull a backstreet boy. Karl Malone doesn't know why a boy would be in the back of a street. Or how to use a computer. Hope that clears everything up.

How? We dont have room to offer him the max.

Edit: I guess if we drop the rights to Exum, Favors, Hood, JJ and Neto along with not picking up the options on Thabo, Jerebko and Udoh we might have room. I think we might also have to trade Burks for nothing as well though.
I believe we would have room for the max he would get if we let Favors walk, let Joe Johnson walk, let Neto walk, let and don't extend Hood. We might have to decline on Jerekbo too maybe.

I'm fine with that. If Parker is a star, he is worth all of that. Hell, he averaged 20+ per game last year. He fits perfectly next to Gobert.

Burks expires when we extend/match on Exum for 2019 and beyond. Core 4 of Exum, Mitchell, Parker and Gobert.

Jazz will offer Exum the qualifying offer but he will go get a contract to be matched. Unless the Jazz offer him something decent early. Either way even at just the qualifying offer Exum is a 14 million cap hold next season. We dont have room for a max offer unless we make some big changes.

http://www.spotrac.com/nba/utah-jazz/cap/2018/

Rudy Gobert $23,491,573
Ricky Rubio $14,975,000
Joe Ingles $13,045,455
Alec Burks $11,536,515
Donovan Mitchell $3,111,480
Tony Bradley $1,679,520

Exum cap hold $14,977,156

We then let go of Favors, Hood, JJ, Jerebko, Sefelosha, and Udoh. (which is a terrible terrible move for the Jazz fyi)

We are at 82.75 million. The cap is at 101 million. That leaves us with 18.25 million as the MAX we could offer a player. Which would gut our team and be a huge risk in going after a RFA.

We would then have no money to fill out the roster so it would be scrubs.

The best move is to look at all the trades as the deadline gets close. If we can get a better player at a position or get a better contract we should go for it. If not we should try and retain all our players at a reasonable price and keep trying to develop our players. Along with that keep trying to strike gold in the draft like we did with Gobert and Mitchell.

I think Exum, Mitchell and Gobert are all potentially good pieces and something to build around. I think Hood, Rubio, Favors, Inlges are solid players that can be pieces around elite players. We might have to mix and match due to contracts, fit and players developing but we should try to keep our talent unless we are trying to tank, which we will not with Gobert on our team and healthy.
