Go GET Teague

Plus the little man in my head is telling me that why not have Exum improve faster and still have Burke to score points off the bench instead of a year or two with Teague

A. Teague won't be around for very long. Exum is the man when teague leaves.
B. Exum blows everyone away next year because he has improved so much. Bench teague. Start Exum. Play Exum 35 minutes per game.

Boom Exum is the man even after we acquire teague

Aaaand we have Teague!!!!! He's better than Burke and Booker, maybe combined....

I've spent a good couple hours on jazzfanz. Time well spent, but my wife is getting needy. Thinks I've spent long enough on this site.

Wait wait wait there's people who don't want Teague cause they're concerned about Exum? That makes no sense. Both can be on the roster for a season and a half no problem. Teague should make the team significantly better this year and next year Exum is basically going to be continuing his rookie season as he'll have to get back into the swing of things with the season off. I would still be willing to part with Burks to get this deal done, but it sounds like we may not even have to go that far! I can't believe anyone on this board wouldn't be for this trade if it includes anyone other than Exum, Hood, Hayward, Favors, Gobert, and Burks. Also to a lesser extent Lyles who I would be hesitant to part with in this deal.

He's not the only reason. Just became the subject I concentrated on today.

How is Exum ever supposed to be the man if Teague is there being a man. Plus I'm paranoid I value my paranoia.

What if Teague is here being a woman. Would that ease your concern? Sorry, couldn't help myself. In all seriousness, you wouldn't trade Burke for Teague straight up (not that ATL would ever consider it)?

My paranoia doesn't allow me to think this way and I don't expect he will blow up next year, but I'd like him to blow up the following year, and my paranoia is telling me it won't happen with Teague here next year.
I'm sure they have medicine out there that can help with this.

This is a terrible idea. Burke was awful last year and has barely managed to rehab his trade value while playing better from off the bench. He's not a long term answer. Teague doesn't necessarily have to be either, but for the next year and a half, I guarantee that he's a better option than Burke.

Competition is good for sports. Teams should strive to put as much compatible talent together as possible. Getting Teague is better than not getting him. . . regardless of how Exum responds. If Dante is going to become an elite player, he won't be held back by Jeff Teague being in Utah. Too much angst over nothing IMO.

Not to mention some vet mentorship for Exum. Yeah, no brainer.

Call DL. Don't make the move. The Jazzfan has paranoia.

It's important to know that we would be very lucky at this point if Exum ever became as good as Teague. Homerism/optimism is off the charts for that guy.

I fear that because of Neto's recent good performances the Jazz will give up to take Teague. It would be a big mistake.

Or they'll just hold firm because they're not as desperate as they would have been before he started playing well. Imagine Neto as the #3 PG. That's how the Spurs roll. . . (see also George Hill, Patty Mills and Cory Joseph.)
