Jazz only wanted expirings in return so they could have mad money to spend in the off-season, As for Millsap, it was an internal power struggle between KOC/Millers and DL. DL wanted a full rebuild; KOC wanted a retool. Wasn't until after the season and late into the 10-day "pre" free agency that the issue was settled. Jazz kept Millsap, DMC and Foye hanging while the internal power struggle played itself out, concluding with the Jazz taking on the GS contracts.
