Go GET Teague

you also could have acquired extra talent and then packaged any of our signed-talent for an established PG. Stocking with talent was the name of the anti-cakk bakking game. Again, I've just said this.

This thread is a 17 pages already?? I remember suggusting trying to overpay(12mil per) Teague to steal him summers ago, that idea was detested around here ... now everyone wants to overpay to trade for him for 1½ seasons..

If Burks didn't get injured and we aquired carroll, matthews, or green then someone would be riding pine... And we would be paying way too much money for our 4th best wing. Which would be the free agent that we just aquired.

The cake bakers were saying that hood hayward and burks are all as good as or better than those free agent wings.
I think all three of our guys are better than those free agents. And we would have had to pay those guys lots of money (more than Burks or hood certainly) and then have to deal with a log jam when the team is healthy. Especially when exum is back.

Ingles and Johnson would be riding pine if they are even on the team. Having good players riding pine is a good problem to have. It's what we do want. The money issues would be a problem. But that could be solved by trading a player if needed.

Hood and Burks might be better players (debatable) but are they better for Utah (even more debatable)? Dealing with a logjam is a something we want.

It might be something you want or I want but would Burks, hood, hayward, or carroll be fine with 15 minutes per game?

Would greg Miller be fine with paying a guy 13 million to play 15 minutes per game?

guys, keep arguing hypothetically if you want. But any player we would have acquired WOULD HAVE PLAYED MEANINGFUL MINUTES THIS YEAR. If the return to health brought a logjam with it, then you move pieces for different ones or picks.

In other words, the presence of injuries FURTHER PROVES that cakk bakking was stupid.

Carroll (if healthy) would have been my preference for two reasons - A.) he's big enough to play the 4 in small ball lineups without giving up his greatest asset - defense. B.) He was a known factor to Snyder and would have fit in with the team's chemistry perfectly.

Favors/Gobert, Carroll, Hayward, Hood/Burks and Exum would have been a fun set of lineups to watch. I firmly believe that Hayward and Carroll would have been fine starting together with Hood, Burks and Burke manning the bench. Add Lyles/Withey to that group and you have a solid playoff rotation if they could stay healthy.

Honestly, would it really have been that difficult to get every main rotation guy adequate minutes with some of the trash lineups we've had to run out there this year?

Carroll, Hayward, Hood and Burks as a unit gives you a ton of versatility and ability to play together. I think everyone would have gotten plenty of minutes together.

They'd be a lot better with it if the team was winning. And right now he would be as we are under the cap. Would that be the case in 2-3 years? Who knows. I'd bet he'd be more OK with it if the Jazz were winning. You are going to have to pay to win.

And for the other question I proposed? (Would Burks, hayward, carroll, or hood be ok getting 15 minutes per game?)

Only if you play one of them at point allot.

How many minutes is our 4th wing getting currently?

Carroll, Hayward, Hood and Burks as a unit

Would I play that unit together? Maybe
Would you? Apparently

Snyder seems to really like his bigs though. And seems to love neto and probably would like exum out there too (remember that this cake baking discussion was happening before we knew about all the injuries)

I think that if we pick up carroll and don't get injuries then one of the 4 wings doesn't play much at all.

I'd leave that up to Snyder with a big smile that he has to make such a hard decision with such good players.

Good point. We really should get every free agent available every time and have an all star team.

I like that plan!

Because that is exactly what I said. Come on Fish...
Why weren't people talking about how the jazz should go after deandre jordan and Tyson Chandler and Paul millsap or other bigs in free agency last year? Could it be because we have Gobert and favors already?

Imagine a rotation at the 4 and 5 of Gobert, jordan, favors, and millsap. Quin could have made that work yet I didn't hear about any plans like that for some reason

I really dont think Quin could have made that work. Players have egos and won't sign to a team if they know they won't be getting the minuets they want.
