Go GET Teague

They aren't that desperate though. They could get a deal like Burke and a few meh picks next year for Teague.

The guy sold his condo and has checked out of many games. If you are the Hawks, why would you keep giving DS's minutes to Teague? We had the same quandary with Gobert/ Kanter. Even thought Teague gives them more wins, he detracts from team's long-term development.

Why would they want Burke? They have Mack and Schroeder.

You seriously have to ask? Damn, the level you have sunk to just to disagree with me.

Mack is SO GOOD he's shooting 16% on his 3's. Yep, that's the guy you want to promote to being the backup behind Schroeder, who isn't exactly a great shooter himself. Sure, Atlanta would prefer Burks as part of the package. Heck, they've probably asked for both. But they might bite on Burke + picks if no other team offers more. He's a LOT better than Mack and can spot start if needed, or come in and play with the starters if/when Schroeder struggles. Also a great contract situation as a RFA in a couple of summers. Doubt he gets a huge offer, so if Trey continues to improve (or just maintains the level he's reached this year), he'd be a good player to have.

Don't kid yourselves-- Teague would be a stopgap option for us until Dante was ready to emerge (unless he busts-- in which case Teague is insurance).

Having a 6'6" PG who's as good defensively as Dante makes us absolutely murderous on the defensive end. And we need to try and nourish that. Dante's play making will improve, and we've been fine thus far rolling out a lineup of Burke and Neto

I think I only force this trade through if Hayward threatens to leave. Otherwise, I offer Burke and some picks, and leave it at that. I still want to see what we can get out of Dante before investing.

Trey is under rated by most jazzfanz.. Mack is okay as a backup but I'd rather have Burke... They may see the mid season transition as an issue.

If we had a good starter we'd feel great about trey as a backup... Because we need more we see him as deficient. Draft status is also a factor. Recently trey has looked a little checked out to me. A couple really bad defensive mistakes... Specifically in the Detroit game.

When we get good point guard play we win... If we got a guy who could provide that on a regular basis we'd be frickin good. Dante can still get the minutes he deserves because Teague and Exum can play at the same time. I think we forget how passive Dante was and how weird of a year he had. I don't think he needs 36 minutes a night to grow and think this might help him long term.

2 of our 5 shooters would have no shooting ability (hopefully Dante gets better at this, but he'll never be great.) And we have zero sharpshooters on the bench.

I'm pretty sure everyone would rather have Burke. Mack kind of sucks.

1. So Atlanta trades Teague for a downgrade at the 1 and a **** pick or two? Not happening. The only way the Jazz send out Burke and garbage picks for Teague is if there's a third team involved.

2. Mack is a career 32% shooter from 3. Burke is a career 33% shooter from 3. I know you love small samples, but this is ****ing ridiculous.

3. I wasn't responding to you. Several people have suggested trading Burke and a late 1st or some 2nds for Teague. If those are the best offers Atlanta receives, they might as well wait until the offseason, and try again.

Exum-Hood-Hayward-Favors-Gobert were +23 on 161 minutes last season. I'm shocked to find this.

Burke is better, but Mack was fine backing up Teague for 20 minutes per game two seasons ago. Atlanta isn't going to dump Teague for a small upgrade at the backup 1. Makes no sense.

What do you think of Burks + picks?

That at least makes some sense for Atlanta. Makes sense for the Jazz if they think they can extend or re-sign Teague -- I'd want to talk to Teague's agent first. Probably means Burke needs to be shopped in the offseason (if not sooner).

No. I'd rather keep Burks. As has been already stated Burks has more value. Also we still need a 3rd wing and I'm not comfortable with Jingles being that guy. If we trade Burks it better be for a shooter.

I think Atlanta is prepared to get a downgrade at the 1. The point is to make Schroeder the starter, so they dont want to bring in a player who is going to demand starter minutes at the 1.

I fully believe Atlanta would take Burke + our pick if it was unprotected.

I think PG is our greatest need. I'm not sure if I want to give up Burks. But I don't find the contract or the wing arguments convincing.

I don't find Teague convincing. I'd rather wait it out. We can find a better longterm fit imo.

Also Atlanta has been fielding calls for Horford... seems like they're trying to reset/reload a bit. They would WANT that GSW unprotected pick especially as it's for 2017 which I'm told is a LOADED year talent wise.

Exum is the long term answer at PG. If we trade for Teague, he will obviously start this year and next year, but he's the back up in terms of future plans. The question then becomes how much we will have to pay Teague (if he would even re-sign), and whether it's overpaying for a bench player. Unless Exum and Teague can play together at times--then it becomes less of an issue.
