Go HARD!

I say we move up in the first, but i like this more, less risk.

move up to 30 or a top pick in the 2nd round and take a shooter.

Tim Hardaway Jr, Glen Rice Jr, maybe Snell, maybe Bullock.

... if this thread is about risk/reward... if hes at a discount and can be locked up long term.

Burks is not, has not been, and will never reach his potential as a one. Get over this idea. Just like Millsap is not a three

I disagree. I think Burks is a very good candidate to be a decent backup PG - i.e. combo guard. No, he'll never be a starting PG; but he can be a great playmaker and penetrator coming off the bench and getting to the rim.

Burks isn't a PG. He can play the 1 occasionally (maybe 10 mins a game?), but it would be in his best interest, and the team's, to play him at the 2. This is fairly obvious.

Yes, I agree. But if/when the Jazz draft a starting PG and continue to play Hayward at SG, then Burks will need to get mins at both positions. Or do we just assume he'll get 15 minutes as the backup SG and that's good enough. Most teams have a core of 8 players. You can do that in a variety of ways depending on whether you have a combo guard, combo forward, or swing player for the wing positions. Favors can play the 4 or 5 and Hayward plays the 2 or 3. That gives the team some flexibility. Probably easier to find another PF instead of a center for that rotation. And I'd rather see the Jazz find a very good SF as Hayward and Burks can cover the mins at SG.

no way, burks isnt great playing 2. hopefully hes working on his midrange game, and catch and shoot

i much prefer him with the ball in his hands until than, look at his best games and tell me he cant play PG..

he really causes small pg's an issue too, i cant for the life of me figure why everyones complaining about him at PG.

I thought we were going hard! Burks plays the 1 in my lineup, and to be technical I didn't say point guard. I realize Burks isn't John Stockton, I don't care. The offense doesn't need to be initiated by him. He just rounds out a solid, athletic defensive lineup.

I've often compared Burks and Goodwin.. and interestingly, Goodwin had, by far, his best games when playing PG. It was like he stopped trying to force things because he knew he could get his opportunities throughout the game.

this x1,000,000

if you put the ball in Goodwin or Burks' hands they will react, put them off the ball they think and get antsy.

plus the defensive ramifications are awesome.

would not have been drafted @4 if Cal didnt play him at PG

The biggest thing this team needs is a god damn coach. Unless the Jazz go on a mother-****ing TEAR with getting talent for the roster, Corbin is just not good enough to get it done and I think we've seen enough to know a little something about him.

Obviouzly we should offer cp3 the max, which he will promptly laugh and tell us to go **** ourselves.

We should try to trade for rajon.... which will be a turbo fail as well

Then we play the youth while semi tanking by having corbin for coach.

Then draft our star player next year and find a good coach..... then be contenders for the next decade

But didn't you know the Jazz don't draft superstars, they draft "system" players. They'll look past Jabari and the other guy and draft some white stiff or something.

They're in a position to potentially do it with the 2014 draft. Hopefully they have the balls to actually go through with it.
