Gobert leads the new defensive player ladder

That AD is fourth on the list tells how much LA buzz were hurt by Giannis taking the MVP and DPOY off their stars and desperate to hand him the award regardless of whatever he'd do on the regular season - it's just that he's been so subpar that they even couldn't place him any higher than that

AD is one of the most overrated players. He won 1 playoff game in his career before getting traded to LA so Lebron could carry him along. I have no idea how he's been 1st team all nba when Jokic, Embiid, and Gobert are all better than him as centers and Lebron, Durant, Giannis, and Kawhi Leonard are all better as forwards

Rudy has been so much better this year than last... I think getting additional effort and support has helped him too. Truly impressive.

One national media thing that absolutely needs to stop is the idea he gets played off the court because of having to switch onto guards in the playoffs. While we'd rather have him at the rim to setup everything else the defense does... He's ****ing awesome on the perimeter. I laugh every time some wing or guard thinks they got an advantage on a switch. That one highlight of him and steph in the playoffs is such an outlier and he was on one damned leg... yet that's all some casuals seem to remember.

Rudy has never been played off the court in the playoffs... thats just a lie.

Every fan of every other team in the NBA believes that their current center is just a year away from becoming Rudy Gobert. It really just as ridiculous as believing their guy will become Jokic.

I think he is more aggressive knowing that he has a capable backup if he gets into foul trouble.

It’s still early, butI really don’t see another candidate besides Gobert. It’s definitely not Giannis again. Ben Simmons isn’t even the best defender on his own team. Embiid is still great, but not as great as Rudy and has played less games. Turner’s block numbers are coming back down to earth and he was never at DPOY level anyways. AD is injured and not at that level either.

It's a lie that could help the Jazz MASSIVELY if other teams buy into it. Any team who tried to use that against us would get hurt real bad.

Teams are smarter than that. It’s just funny how the media narrative goes... one guy says it... next guy recycles it... rinse and repeat.

The only reason Rudy wouldn't get it is exposure, small market, PR ********. If he keeps at this high level it will be a huge travesty if he doesn't get it.

Most media guys have not watched a single Jazz game, for years.
Right... but its like the basketball podcast nerds that say this **** too. They should know better.

Look, it's like the tax expert you pay money to that's really just plugging it into TurboTax. The great secret is that there are no experts. It's all a façade. All of it. And by all of it, I literally mean all of it. Expertise can be distilled down to smooth sounding, repeatable phrases that are as meaningless as they are untrue.

Except I am an expert
