What's new

Gobert out for 4-6 weeks

I still hate tanking and don't want to see it.

That being said that Jazz are so dreadful lately that they might lose a ton while still putting in the effort.

The second sentence. Jazz won't ever intentionally lose. But this team is just not good enough to win a lot of games. Sorry to have been so right. I was the naysayer in the "playoff bus" thread because I saw the tough schedule looming ominously in the distance.

I don't think it's a question of a tough schedule, I think it's the obvious reality when a team's most skilled/best player that the entire offense is built around just up and leaves: the Jazz aren't very good and the roster is pretty weird.

Plus Rubio has not been the player most of us thought he would be. Quin gave him the keys and the green light, but it's obvious now that he's not good enough for that role. I wonder what is going to happen now with Rubio.

I'm bias as a Jazz fan and I know there are advanced stats that can prove or disprove that I'm about to say I just haven't taken the time to look and I know the Jazz have, use and Quin even references this in his interviews with the media. So my point, the Jazz miss more open to wide open shots than any team in the NBA, I would be willing to go so far as to say that, so far this season in games against the Jazz opposing teams better players are shooting a higher percentage on lightly contested to contested shots than the Jazz are shooting on their open to wide open shots.

Quin references that the Jazz are getting many open and many good looks and they pass up too many as well and so they just need to keep shooting and doing so with confidence that the next one will go in.

Right now this Jazz team is in their own head, they see other teams hitting shots, even tough shots all the while they are missing shots they know are open and that they should hit and mentally they tighten up and everything snowballs from their. So I also get a weird vibe from this team and not sure if the mental and offensive make up of this team can gel and work, theoretically it can but the human factor so far is saying it can't.

Damn, no Gobert. You Jazz fans already have plans to use that as an excuse when we kick your butt tomorrow night.

Remember this? Melo toasts your team. Get ready for more tomorrow night:

What? Melo doesn't play for the Knicks any longer. And what do you mean, toasts. To give a toast is to salute someone. To make toast out of them, is to burn them up. So, what are you talking about?

BTW, yeah, Favors had a great game in a win last night. The Nets also hung 106 points on the Jazz on the road.

The Jazz have a tough time scoring with Rudy on the floor and any player resembling a traditional 4, but his presence on D is hard to calculate.

Time for the Jazz offense to explode. Rubio/Favors combo has shown it's pretty effective. Hope the Jazz let Gobert let his body heal and at the same time stay in the playoff hunt (I know its early).

Rubio seems to work better with Favors than with Gobert, mostly because Favors can handle the ball out on the floor better.

So we've got Favors, Rubio, Mitchell, Hood/Ingles, Sefalosha. We can work with that.

If we're being honest with ourselves, this means that Favors is going to raise his trade value. Rubio is going to make him look good. It's likely the Jazz will lose Favors for nothing at the end of the season if we don't trade him.

It's way too early to make this comment but I can't believe I'm thinking that the Jazz might actually be better with Favors at the 5 instead of Gobert. This build has always been known to be trash floor spacing wise, and not playing Rudy and Favors together has been obvious AF since the addition of Rubio was announced. The only saving grace on offense has been DM, Ingles, and streaky Hood. In fact, they've all been streaky.

How embarrassing. You don't even know Melo doesn't even play for the Knicks anymore.

I knew I would get someone. Congratulations, you have been exposed as a typical ignorant Jazz fan. Hey, do you even know that the orange thing Melo is bouncing is called a basketball?

Melo put up 30 against the Jazz on January 20 2016. That's called burning them. That's called toasting them.
Face it, we destroy your team easily.

Dude. Trying to beat up on Jazz Fans at the moment is really just a waste of your time.

No it's not, it's so pathetic that it's funny. I liked Melo going 12 of 26 for 26 points against the Jazz, with no free throws and 2 for 8 from 3. You think OKC fans complained about Westbrook not deferring to KD? This will be worse.
