Gobert thinks Waiters tried to injure him

Did Waiters dive on purpose to injure Gobert?

Ya, looks intentional. I think he was trying to block him from getting the ball.

I thought that the first time I saw the replay. It was like he changed directions so that he could basically chop block Rudy.

I had to laugh at the Miami game call...something like "Oh no, Rudy Gobert falls on Dion Waiters shoulder" as if Waiters hadn't just thrown himself in Rudy's direction causing him to fall.

That's dirty. He tucked his head and lowered his shoulder. When you see guys going after loose balls, they go arms extended and slide on their bellies.

I don't think he was trying to take out his knee, but then again he swerved into him and away from the ball at the last moment. Very reckless and dangerous play that should be fined, imo. That could have been a season ender for Gobert pretty easily.

I don't think he was trying to injure him, but he definitely was intentionally blocking him to prevent him from going after the ball -- should be a flagrant one. A dirty play for sure.

I voted Hard To Tell, mostly because while I don't think he went in with the idea of "hey, let's go **** his leg up," but he really didn't seem to care once he was committed to the roll.

It definitely looked reckless to me. If the shoe was on the other foot I'd bet Waiters is saying the same as Rudy. Hopefully what comes around goes around. The things that really burns is Waiters was the one who put the game out of reach at the close. (Well him and our abysmal shooting.) I can't believe I could ever think it, but Mack would be a better option than some of the guys who are taking shots for us now.*

I think he intentionally changed direction toward Rudy, causing him to hit Rudy in the legs. I do not think he intended to injure Rudy specifically. I think he was trying to keep Rudy from getting to the ball. However, just like I may not intend to kill anyone when I pull the trigger, I would still pay the price if someone were hurt or killed. For intentionally causing contact that caused an injury he should get suspended for a game or three.

So in the end it is a bad poll. Yes, he intentionally threw himself into Rudy, and no, he did not intend to injure, but just to keep him from the ball.

Regardless of intent, it’s s dangerous non basketball move. Stuff like that shouldn’t be tolerated.

When you go at someone’s knees like that, your intent is to injure. Those saying otherwise should pull their head out of their ***.
