Gobert update thread

Dennis Lindsay said he would make sure Rudy remains protected, so that seems to suggest we won't see him tomorrow, and possibly in game 5. At least.

Yeah.. I mean as hard as it is to swallow, you don't want to give him long term issue... gotta look towards the future.

Game 6 at the earliest...if that. I feel he will be out longer than originally anticipated.

To be honest, even if he's out for the rest of the series, we should still be able to beat the 'Blake-less' Clippers. If we don't, I don't think we deserve to move on to the next round.

We still can't defend the Paul/DJ two man pick and roll show. Every one of our bigs is a liability. And none of our bigs are providing anything offensively either. Except JJ.

Name of the game strategy wise for Game 4 is foul trouble. Make DJ and CP3 work and get caught up in foul trouble. Even taking one of them out of the game for extended periods will benefit the Jazz.

If Gobert is out as expected... Why not go with a five of JJ, Hayward, Ingles, Hood and Hill? Go small, spread them out and make Jordan guard the perimeter. That five can't be any worse on the glass or on defense inside than the Favs/Diaw combo who got us 7 rebounds in a combined 62 minutes on the court in game 3. And it will be much more effective offensively than those two. Then when Jordan sits bring on Favs and/or Diaw and try to take a size advantage. Is that crazy?

Yes, that is crazy. You have to have someone to box out Jordan. Those boxouts allow dudes like Hill and Hayward to dig in to get boards.
