Gobert update thread

Yeah that's smart strategy. Play our franchise player while not fully healed risking his career hoping that one of the 4 all stars on the best team in the league suffers a freak injury that the other all stars can't cover for.

They would have Klay and Draymond left. Durant and Kerr are already out.

HE'S RUNNING, Y'ALL

"He's making a lot of progress," Jazz coach Quin Snyder said. "He's a lot farther along than I thought he'd be at the time of his injury."

Gobert didn't go through Sunday morning's shootaround in the typical sense, Snyder said. Rather, Gobert more observed his teammates. But Snyder did confirm Gobert is back to running. Should he be able to play, Gobert would probably be inserted into the starting lineup.

I think it is fair to critique them. There are moves I wanted them to make. I am happy to talk about specific ones. I also think its fair to see the big picture. If they tied up cap space now they might not be able to retain the players we have that are going to need that cap space. They still need the cap flexibility in the future.

It is frustrating to have our best player out for the playoffs and hoping we had more depth to cover for that player would be nice but the reality is when your best player goes down with an injury you are going to struggle to win in the playoffs.

Any team in the NBA outside of maybe GS would be struggling to win without their best player. No realistic FA signing is going to make it okay to lose your best player in the first 10 seconds of the playoffs. Jazz could not prepare for that nor could any team.

His return will be better than Rick Vaughn's return as the Wild Thing in Major League 2.

The biggest question for me is if this is an injury that he can do more serious long term damage if he plays. If it is then I would prefer he not play as much as that sucks. I don't want a grant hill situation.

They won't clear him if that's the case.

this injury reminds me of the one from kyrie irving in the finals 2 yrs ago vs the GSW in the finals.

Yea wtf Log. You act like winning this series means nothing if we can't beat the Warriors.

Winning the series means nothing if Gobert ends up like Favors actually. Unless it would guarantee a ring that is too great a risk. Let him get fully healthy, then bring him back.
