Gobert vs Whiteside

If i remember correctly about it being the same draft, I wanted whiteside. Then looked super foolish when he fell so far and then bounced out of the league.

I remember watching whitesides highlight video and being blown away. Hadn't been that impressed since stromille swifts highlights.

WE thought alike. I was in favor of the Jazz trading down for Hassan. Was shaking my head over that one until he came back and started beasting. Of course had the Jazz drafted him he'd have never developed. Sloan would have had him buried on the bench giving towels to everyone else. For Hassan, it took being out of the league to piss him off enough to work on his game.

Hassan is a great player. no doubt. It's very close between him and Rudy. I know Hassan has the stats, and maybe I'm very biased, but Gobert changes games with his presence - much more than Whiteside.

Also from watching highlights from the game, Withey looks completely uninterested in playing. Has he been like this all season? Definitely seemed to play harder last season... I really thought he'd be a really valuable backup as a hardworking rebounder and shotblocker, with good free throw shooting. Doesn't look like he's really putting it together this season based on highlights and comments here.

You aren't alone. He is playing at a very low level. He needs to contribute more on both ends. He's lucky to be on an NBA roster.

And people thought he would average under 20 this year lmao

Well, Hill has been out and Favors is still gimpy. Hayward's numbers could/should come down a bit. But I think he'll stay north of 20 for the season. The strength he's added is noticeable; he can finish through contact. And he's also looking for contact more - and smart about creating it to draw FT's. It will be interesting to compare his FT attempts per game to last season.

The Heat would laugh in your face as they took Exum away. Good lord I'm glad you arent a GM.

I agree, they are about the same height but Exum has better speed, quickness and wingspan. Richardson is taking over 10 shots a game and scoring about the same as Exum. They seem to be about the same level of shooter. Exum has shown he can get to the rim better but not quite there at finishing but neither is Richardson at either. Exum is a better defender. Exum is a better passer. Exum is better at getting to the FT line. Exum is also 2 years younger. He will blow away any stats Richardson is putting up right now in 2 years. I cant believe any Jazz fan would think about trading Exum for Richardson. Biggest knock on Exum was that he wouldnt drive and get to the FT line. Take a look at Richardsons FT attempts this year.
