What's new

Going Big

PK had a thought that Favors, had he stayed in school, would be the #1 pick this year. We got the #1 pick!

Yeah, and he is really playing like a #1 pick isn't he? What's is average so far, 6 pts and 3 rb? He is a project and we will not know for awhile what he is gonna be. Could be another #1 flop.

I am puzzled by what has people so excited right now about him. Could he be good? yeah. Is he now? No, right now he looks like an average backup NBA big.

Hey zman you're harshin' our buzz.

I think it's ok for the fans to be excited about the change. We need to look at the bright side of things and I think that a #1 for #3 swap is a semi-valid way to look at it. Maybe Favors would be further along if he had the PT, I don't know. Also, just like was said about CJ (and largely still is) he is young, 2 years younger than Deron when he came into the league, not far off what CJ was when CJ was drafted. I for one am excited about the new team, even if it is just to watch the young guys play. I liked that the team last night was having fun. They haven't had fun in a long time. I would much rather watch a few young guys play and have fun than a bunch of vets play and look like they are getting a root canal at the same time.

someone said: if he would slash more he'd take a huge step up just from that. he'll just continue to settle for quick jumpers, and some nights hit them other nights he'll be a joke.

the problem with that is paint would be too crowded. without Memo, big al, ak, favors or sap will be packing up the paint area, so most of the times, C.J has no room to drive, Harris isn't much of a 3-pointer neither, so i think its ok for C.J to shoot some 3s even if he misses, as long as he stretches the opponent's defense.

That is the problem, he really doesn't. Lately I have noticed they are starting to sag off him, not quite as bad as they did Brewer but enough to let us know they have scouted it and they think he is a poor outside shooter. Semi-regular airballs do not scare teams very much.

his stat for 3 pointer this year is 1.5 made out of 4.5 attempts. 33.1%, i think that's acceptable, with jeff hornacek joining the staff, i can see that percentage only go up.

Much easier to find a few wings than bigs.

We can find another Wes Matthews.

While no one can find another Al Jefferson or Derrick Favors outside of the lottery.

I would seriously consider trying to trade Nets' #1 this year for Wes..
I don't think Portland would ever bite though.
