The losses keep piling up which is what we need to dump Ty and the vets. If we lose at home to Detroit, then we're at .500 even and pretty much look like a lock to end up with a losing record.
If we make a FT, make a layup, and get a rebound we are 3-1 on this trip. Someone on this team has got some bad Karma. Maybe now that Raja is officially gone the gods will be at peace.
I don't think the Jazz are that short-sighted in either regard. The end of the season won't affect anything. They have a plan already, they are going to see it through.
Do we really think that's the route we'd take? I think it's more likely we'd look at the injuries and think we had bad luck with a few bounces and realize we had a tough time relying on young guys, then resign Al and a hunker down and get a handful of other vets that "better" complement Al so we're not so dependent on "rookies".
Say hello to Kurt Thomas, Mike Dunleavy, Chris Kaman and Antawn Jamison.

I'm going to assume you are a doomsday prepper also. Not everything is a conspiracy to keep the Jazz fan down.

I think the viewpoint is reasonable given past history. Remember the Deron years where year after the year the Lakers would beat them in the playoffs, and it was obvious that the roster that did not have the players to make it past them, yet the team line was always that it just takes time to get better, and injuries prevented them from seeing what the team really could do.
The team's MO has always been to take the conservative route, and following that scenario would fit the conservative Jazz MO. Hopefully the offseason proves that MO to be done with.
I guess I'm not a fan of blowing up teams that are at least pretty good. Unless you are LA or somewhere where you can pretty much sign whomever you please.
The teams MO is to be good, try and stay good, and not do anything crazy that might kill the Jazz altogether. Which is a solid approach.
That is a legit viewpoint.
The Jazz have now had 20 plus years of being good though. I am tired of them being just good, for I want them to finally win a championship. Since the Jazz are not going to likely be drafting a superstar in the draft anytime soon, it is going to take a more aggressive approach to find a way to get to a championship level. The Jazz are not going to be attracting star FA's either, so their only other option is smart trading while the young core hopefully keeps on improving.
Like a smart investor its better to stay consistently good than to take crazy risks that could kill your financial future. I like what the Jazz do, I understand the Jazz are probably not going to be a championship contender without some fluky **** happening, I'd rather have them be good than do risky stuff that might hurt the product for years and years to come. I am confident Al is gone, I think Paul is gone, I am confident the management thinks Favors, Kanter, Burks, and Hayward are the core. Next year should be fun, although I see the Jazz struggling with those 4 having to carry the team.
If they truly let the core 4 take over next year, with the veterans gone, then I will be happy. Even doing that would go against the usual Jazz MO. The fact that they did not trade either of the two veteran big men is worrisome that the MO is not changing though. I am hopeful that like Lindsey said they are trying to keep their flexibility for the future, but the FO has said that since last trade deadline with no results yet. At sometime you have to walk your talk though, and if that doesn't happen this offseason, then I don't even want to think about how I will feel.

Do you think maybe they didnt trade them because they were only getting offers for players with bad contracts that extended past this year, or for players that just aren't good at all, or because there wasn't anything being offered that would help the jazz in the long run?
