Golden State: all-time best?

Stifle Tower

Punch Bowl Re-Filler
On pace to win 73 games and break the record of the Bulls. Can they do it?

If they were in the EC, I'd say yes. But I believe the WC is just too tough from 1-10. Too many good teams.
However, kudos to GS for what they've done so far. They're a helluva team and barring a major collapse, Kerr just about has COY wrapped up.

The Hollinger Playoff Odds project Golden State to finish 64-18. Obviously there's no perfect formula to predict the outcome of a season, but I'll remain highly doubtful of the Warriors beating or even tying the best record ever until they sustain this pace.

I like watching the Warriors. I wouldn't mind them and a Cleveland finals with GS winning it.

Steph Curry in the finals would be a lot of fun to watch.

Not a chance, but they have to be favorites for GM/FO of the year. I feel kind of bad for all the anti-tankers who were so insistent that the W's FO was a bunch of incompetent losers. Must be embarrassing to be so horribly wrong.

it'd be pretty ironic if Steve Kerr broke the record as a coach that he was part of setting as a player!

I wonder if they'd make the Bulls take down the 72 wins banner they have hanging in the rafters at the United Center

It's way too early to talk breaking records. Easy to do it in the first half of the season as teams find themselves, harder to maintain as you march towards the playoffs and nagging injuries start to pile.

I remember when the celtics started out at like 41-4 and didnt break the record. I would bet the record is safe, but it sure would be fun to see them break it. I want Golden State to be awesome for this year and next, then the whole team leave/take a year off and suck horribly in 2017!

maybe Steph Curry will decide he's always wanted to play MLB or something like that

Only team that had enough luck were the 06/07 Mavs. If you subtract the 0-4 season start they would have had 11 losses overall. And they had like a ratio of 20/21 games won in games decided by 3 points or less.

Wonder if we can give him an all-expenses paid trip to one of those Indian "resorts" nearest to the Bay Area. Then film him gambling with some nefarious individuals. That should do it for a short window in which he wants to try a different sport.

Nah, Curry isn't important enough to the NBA. He'd just get suspended for a few games. Besides, gambling isn't really taboo to Silver. I'll bet (pun intended) it would take betting to lose or against the spread in your own games before any suspensions would occur.

I do agree with AKMVP. The team I want to watch is the GS Warriors with Steph and Klay. More exciting than Lebron and Love.

Didn't know where to put it so,

....the Cav's in the Finals? You been drinking, smoking dope or both? The way the Cav's are playing, they may not even make the playoffs in the weak Eastern Conference!

They have to at least make the playoffs. I want ZERO chance of them getting awarded the #1 pick. But a first round exit - with zero or only one win by the Cavs - would be hilarious.

Nobody outside of Cleveland's/LeBron's fan base wants Cleveland to win the lottery.

...have you forgotten about the Atlanta Hawks? And they ARE in the Eastern Conference! Both teams are playing very well, shoot well and pile up a lot of assists with there unselfish play! I'm partial to the Hawks myself! They have 2 ex-Jazz players and there coach is from Popovich's bench in San Antonio! Winning 73 games is a very tall order! Basically, the Hawks would almost not have to lose another game this season. Possible, but not very probable!
