Good guy with a gun shot by police

So a gunman holds a 100 people hostages, and a good guy with a gun saves the day.

Was that a deliberate misreading?

No, isn't that the story? I only skimmed it. If a crazed gunman took a hundred people hostages, I think most would agree that resolving the situation with only one wounded is an excellent outcome.

I'm not political about the gun issue. I'm just pointing out that the story is a successful example of "good guy with a gun" argument.

No, isn't that the story?

There was an (unarmed, AFAICT) security team that took the suspect down, and the guy who shot was the one wrestled the gun away from the suspect.

I don't know the answer to stopping mass shootings. However, more people walking around with guns will mean more police targets.

As a “good guy walking around with a gun” I accept that risk.

Really? For example, you would sign a document absolving police from any error if they shot you instead of a bad guy?

I’m saying that I knowingly accept the risk that I MAY get shot by police while in the act of defending myself (or others) from some *******. It’s no different (in my mind) than choosing to drive a car at 2:30 am in the vicinity of bars.
