GOP Debate Threads

What you don't think that my man wanting to have the US Government print it's own money instead of a private entity and trying to expose the powers behind this corrupt economic system was not the reason why he was killed? Man I guess I had it wrong all the time, shame on me.

Would you happen to know why such an honorable president was assassinated then? I'd love to know.

Sorry, I'm sure you have read some very convincing things. I remain uninterested.

All the email thing says to me is that she made a very poor judgment call.

As for Bush, he is not running or the current president, so why waste any more breath on him?

I just find her very untrustworthy. Perhaps not all of it is fair but it's how I feel. I think Bernie is trustworthy, same with Rubio and Carson. I do not find Trump, Bush or Huckabee trustworthy either.

As far as negative feelings it is probably :

Clinton
Huckabee
Trump
Bush

In that order. I don't want any of them.
The email thing tells me that she considers herself above the law. It also tells me that she believed she was going to be using it for things that she wanted to remove all the records of. As for your list, I think it's a good one and I would list them in pretty much the same way.

My dislike of Hillary is probably partially related to my experiences with narcissistic liars in my personal life. There is no other brand of human that I have such negative feelings about. I know from sad experience that these sorts of people have zero regard for anybody but themselves. I certainly hope that she's not the type of person I perceive her to be, but if it quacks like a duck...

From a story NPR ran about Bernie Sanders:

Bernie Sanders' athletic strength in high school was in long distance running, according to his teammate Steve Slavin. As a sophomore at James Madison High School in the late 1950s, Sanders was racing with seniors — and winning.

Slavin also recalls Sanders as someone who didn't boast about his successes. Years after graduating, Slavin heard a story about one cross-country race in particular in which Sanders let the second-place runner take the lead, ignoring a tradition that the top two runners join hands at the end and cross the finish line together.

"But Bernie knew that this other guy had not ever won a race by himself," Slavin says. "So when they approached the finish line, the other guy reached out to take Bernie's hand and Bernie sort of nudged him across the finish line so that the other guy would finish first and Bernie would finish second, and it's a story that this guy has always remembered."

Can you imagine how this story would play at the GOP debates?

Carly Fiorina: "Bernie Sanders is in the business of picking winners and losers. When you're given a win, it always comes at a cost. I'm sure Mr. Sanders has called in many favors for that race win in his crony-based athletics club."

Donald Trump: "All I heard is that Sanders lost. America should be second in nothing."

Chris Christie: "Bernie Sanders clearly believes in leading from behind."

Mike Huckabee: "The only thing Bernie should be running from is his record."

Ben Carson: "What is a cross country race?"

Jeb Bush: "I had Sanders on my high school track fantasy team and that move cost me the title."

What do you think Rand Paul would say? I heard he's running.

Or that he is very intelligent and just simply doesn't agree with you on issues.

Personally I am over the narrative of calling into question the intelligence of people on the other side of the political spectrum. That is what this sounds like.

For example, I think hillary is intelligent even though I am very against her as president.

If trustworthiness is your ultimate test for President, or any politician for that matter, you're kidding yourself.

There are plenty of people who are intelligent and disagree. I just think Ben Carson is a person who I don't agree with, in addition to being unintelligent.

Simple math is hard for him, and I don't want him bankrupting our country.

In the end, though, it is a moot point as he has 0 chance of winning a general election.

You're asking for trouble if you don't hold politicians responsible for their word. Will they let you down? Yes, many will, but simply expecting and accepting dishonesty is a very bad idea.

You'd rather have our country bankrupted by a genius like Obama? Have you taken a look at the debt he's racked up? It's mind boggling!

The fact that I don't like Ben Carson and Obama spending are not at all related. I don't have to pick one or the other.

For the sake of fun though, let's talk about how Reagan spent more than all of the previous presidents in this country, combined, and somehow is viewed as "conservative" or how about Clinton being viewed as hyper liberal, yet he actually had a balanced budget for a bit while he was president, which has not happened under any of the Republicans beginning with Reagan.

I was just making a joke with the genius thing because the way you worded your post it sounded like you wanted to be bankrupted by a smart president.

Computer technology would take the world by storm in the nineties, the cold war was over, and America's largest generation was in their prime. That's why the nineties were good times.

In fact if Clinton had his way even with all the new money coming in the budget would not have been balanced. He wanted way more spending than congress would give him. His budgets were routinely rejected by a republican congress that knew they had just lost the Whitehouse because daddy Bush pledged not to raise taxes and then did. This opened the door for Ross Perot to run off with 19% of the vote running on a campaign to balance the budget.

It's much more accurate to say that the booming economy balanced the budget, republicans kinda helped(really though the budget continued to grow), and Clinton was there when it all happened.

This is all true, but Clinton didn't mess it up either.
