GOP Debate Threads

Canada feels the Bern

Canada also wants the Keystone pipeline, wants America to secure it's arctic oil interests, and underfunds its NATO obligations.

Woot Canada:/

Srsly dal. America can't afford the sort of things da Bern talks about in large part because we do things like bomb Milosevic after a year of trying to get other nations to step up for once. The rest of the world sucks 10 times harder if America is Canada.

I'm in Utah so it really wouldn't matter if I asked 10,000 people who they will vote for. The Republican candidate will win this state. But based on the polling I've seen Hillary has an excellent chance to win in that handful of states that matter. (Electoral college is such a stupid way to do this.)

I disagree. Like I said, if the GOP throws Rubio (or Bush)/Kasich out there, they're gonna grab Florida and Ohio which are the two biggest swing states. If they take those, it wouldn't even be close imo. Look at history. Those states are crucial and they're there for the taking for the GOP.

Fwiw I believe the latest poll shows her losing to all of the major republican candidates except for Trump.

Quinnipiac and NBC/WSJ came out yesterday with some head to head polls.

Quinnipiac

Clinton beats Trump by 3 but losses to Carson by 10, Rubio by 5, Cruz by 3 and Christie by 5.

Sanders beats Trump by 2 but losses to Carson by 12, Rubio by 6, Cruz by 1 and Christie by 3.

NBC/WSJ

Clinton beats Trump by 8, Rubio by 3 and Bush by 4 but ties Carson.

Sanders beats Trump by 9 and Rubio by 5.

A year ago I thought Chris Christie had a good chance, and I actually liked him. Then he had that scandal about the bridge. Maybe that was more than a year ago. I don't remember.

No chance. He's a buffoon like Trump. Just a different kind.

Something I find interesting, why is it that there are always less Democratic debates and candidates than on the Republican side?

Democratic voters have a penchant for playing following the leader. Read the fascists of the forum, you'll see.

Guys. I just learned that the Egyptian built the pyramids for grain storage. And Joseph was in charge of building them. With his techno dream coat. Who did I learn this from, you might ask? None other than Dr Ben Carson.

Chris Christie is likely getting demoted to the undercard debate.

Sorry Chris, time to eat at the kid's table.

That's not the worst thing. I think Fiorina's short lived bump came courtesy of her being able to say more, not being distracted by the other people on stage, and directing more of the JV debate. Then when she moved up, she became a bit diluted by all the constraints of having 10 people on stage at one time. Of course, she was also less known then than Christie is now.

That seems to be the whole game right now. The less than 10% of the vote crowd are just trying to hold on in hopes that other people drop out so they can get more airtime and possibly gain traction with it.

Looks like this is boiling down to Trump, Carson, Cruz and Rubio on one side and Clinton and Sanders on the other.

I think there are typically more candidates in the non-incumbent party (but I may be wrong). Regardless, there is nothing preventing candidates from declaring for either party, and if they poll high enough they will be invited to the debates.

Thanks Joe, how's business?

serious question, hope i get an answer.
do you believe in the polling system? people claim its outdated. it has not caught up with technology
aka it is extremely unreliable and it is just as good as a well educated guess

In this instance, I think it has to be wrong.
