I think that it would suck if every time a journalist criticized a team, that team revoked their press pass.Not worried about Monson. I also don't see how a sports team revoking a journalist's press pass sets a "dangerous precedent".
I agree with this post.I think the whole thing made RSL look like a bunch of amateur's personally. And they didn't necessarily back off willingly, they broke the rules of their own league, and were forced to back off by said league.
I have no problem with Monson. I think he's one of the few journalist in this market that doesn't pander to the teams and franchises in the market. He's a journalist and is paid to give his opinion if the franchises don't like it, that is not his job. The opposite of Monson would be Locke, everything that guy says is tainted in my view, because in the end it is skewed by the franchise he's afraid of offending.
