Gordon or Marvin

All this Gordon talk makes me realize what an asset Marvin is. Especially when we allow him to play the three and not try to force him to be a stretch four. I want the Jazz to keep Marvin and let Hayward walk. Marvin seemed more clutch and doesn't command the same over inflated money that others are going to give him. I'd rather see Marvin shooting a three than Hayward clunking one at the end of games. How many game winners did Hayward take and miss he is going to be missed until we find another average player.

I wouldn't just let Gordon walk. He is a RFA and it seems other teams are interested. But Marvin is not a starter. Gordon even on his down year still averaged 16 ppg and 5 rbg 5 ast. While Marvin on the other had in 50 starts 9 ppg 5 rbg 1.3 ast. Gordon can still get better. Marvin won't be, he is going into his 10th year and not getting younger.. You have the $ to spend, lock Gordon up now (unless you can for sure sign a better SF) then sign Marvin to a 2 year 3.5mil/year contract and have him be your 3rd SF and have him be a mentor to Gordon/Hood going forward. But IF you can sign a better SF then fine do it but then you do a S&T with Gordon for assets but you don't just let him walk.

Would love this for two reasons:

We could lustily boo our own player all together without a single fan saying "but no, he's one of OUR OWN!"
There is a fresh crop of Bachelor cast offs and rejects for him to plow through.

It is truly sad. I wish there were fewer troll posts and people ripping each other apart for their opinions. I don't know why it couldn't be more like the NBA subreddit on https://reddit.com. The discussion there is a lot more respectful. Unfortunately the Jazz aren't discussed nearly enough for my liking.

If Hayward gets a 15mil offer from Cle, I would try to pick up Deng for cheaper, and pick up Marvin. Deng had a very comparable year to Hayward so if we could get him for cheaper than what Hayward is offered I would probably do that, and see if we can pick up another FA that has good defense for the bench.

The last option would be matching Hayward but at 15mil I might be leaning 55-45 towards letting Cle eat that contract.
I'm still not convinced Cle is even going to offer that much to Haydizzle, would be surprised.
