What's new

Gotta steal one of these opening 2 games

PG_AB with no rooting interest in the jazz, though. Trollolololol

I'm a fan of basketball, first, which I've always said.. and underdogs.. If you need to try to place labels on me and my opinions to feel better about yourself, so be it.

Get the **** outta here. If you think this series goes 5 games, you expect us to get swept at home. I disagree. I think we'll grab one at home and that's it.

If they lose the opening 2 games in Golden State I do expect them to get swept at home. I hope I'm wrong tho.

This is consistent with my comments since the preseason... I'm just repeating myself, nothing new here.

If they go down 0-2 the Warriors will absolutely take the crowd out of the game in game 3, unless somehow they're ice cold, and the team will crumble.

The whole "The series doesn't start til a hometeam loses" doesn't apply to Golden State.. It's the deathknell for this season if they go back to Utah 0-2.

Lol, you are underestimating this team and crowd. Vivint is going to be insane for game 3. Also this Jazz team does not crumble. They fight the full 48. They have proven that over and over and over and over...

I think GSW wins the series, they are the better team.

But don't underestimate the fight in this team or the craziness of the Jazz home crowd.

History history

In 1998, after sweeping the Lakers 4-0 on May 24, the Jazz have 9 days rest before the next round
The Bulls, after winning a tough 7-game series, have just 2 days rest after winning game 7.
The next series starts on June 3, where the rested and rusty Jazz start flat and the Bulls roll into Utah to steal a game. Then the Jazz get blown out on the road in game 3. The Bulls go on to win the series in 6.

In 2017, after sweeping the Blazers 4-0 on April 24, the Warriors have 7 days rest before the next round.
The Jazz, after winning a tough 7-game series, have just 1 day rest after winning game 7.
The next series starts on May 2, where the rested and rusty Warriors start flat and the Jazz roll into Oakland to steal a game. Then the Warriors get blown out on the road in game 3. The Jazz go on to win the series in 6.

We have to turn gsw into an iso team. No Draymond 3 on 2's; switch every pnr, make them go to Durant late in the shot clock. Even then, Durant 1 on 1 is a great option. Hopefully Rudy is healthy and refs let him play. We will need his efficiency.

They MUST establish footing in this series RIGHT AWAY.. Going back to Utah 0-2 is not a viable option.

Agree or disagree?

We are taking game 1. That's my vibe. Ready to make some noise.

Amen! Warriors are in cake walk mode and there is nothing about the Jazz that suggests they will just roll over for the Warriors. They better be ready for a fight.

The "rusty" Jazz won game 1 of the 98 finals. So in reality, did all that time off really hurt them? If it had, wouldn't the have dropped Game 1 instead of Game 2?

We're gonna win tonight. Feeling it. Warriors treating this like an exhibition game.

I think the Jazz need to win two games on the road to win the series but what is most important in game one is to show GS that win or lose the Jazz are going to be in their grill. I think the Jazz have the best chance of winning a game in game 1 if they don't allow GS to go all crazy to start the game. Keep it close, play defense and execute going down the stretch. This is the formula that will make this a competitive and long series.

I hope the Jazz have been listening to all the sweep talk and boring Utah stories and this motivates them even more to show they don't appreciate getting disrespected. I like the fact that the Jazz are underdogs, no pressure just play.

To win the series yeah. Winning 4 out of the last 5 against a 67 win team isn't very likely. Best case scenario is stealing one of two in GS and then holding serve at home to go up 3-1. Even if we go 2-2 in the first four games by splitting on the road and then splitting at home I think we give ourselves a good shot.
