Grayson Allen predictions

His shooting percentages weren't stellar (weren't bad, but were respectable), but was doing so on very, very high volume
Agreed. His TS% was fine at Duke, but his SL shooting was atrocious. He had a nice shooting day in a 60 point blowout against some dudes from Perth. Cy's comment is bold and i can respect that.

Allen hit some tough looks the other night, notwithstanding the level of competition. He hit contested 3s and a floater in traffic. I was surprised by his shooting tbh.

It's also how confident he was in looking for his shot. That says a lot even if the shots aren't falling.

Allen measured 6'4.5 at the combine, with his shoes on. Also, he has short arms -- for a NBA player of his size --, with a 6'7.25 wingspan. Because of this, I don't think it makes any sense rounding his height up to 6'5. That would just create the illusion that he has the standard size for a 2-guard, when he is actually slightly smaller than the standard. Let's have some good common sense!

I'm comfortable calling him 6'4" or 6'4.5". He's fine for a combo-guard. He's bigger, longer and more athletic than JJ Redick.

Lol. Almost no one not named Niang shoots well in SL

It's hard to get too excited about great shooting in a single game against any level of competition, but I think it's entirely possible he ends the season with the teams second best three point percentage. He's got great mechanics, is comfortable creating his own shot off the bounce and Quin's offense will generate good looks for him off ball. He will probably not be expected to shoot at a particularly high volume unless he absolutely blows up.

He was dealing with an adductor strain in SL which is why they rested him about every other game. I'm sure it had some impact on his shooting, even if only because he hadn't been playing for about a month.

So hopefully SL was an anomaly.

third in ROY voting

second in dunk contest

I'm just in a good mood so I'll throw some other crazy optimism out there.

He will be a better pick than Tony Bradley but worse than Donovan Mitchell.

Okay... seriously I have no idea I hated the pick at the time and now I find myself thinking "maybe Allen makes Ricky expendable". Stay tuned for more wild homer mood swings.

If he is good enough to be a solid 3rd guard in year 2 its huge for us. Cheap rotation players will make it possible to spend big on prime FAs at positions of greater need.

At 9 AST and 15 PTS per 30 min for his rookie season could we possibly have a replacement for Ricky next season? Trade Ricky's salary for a big FA?

Tonight maybe we get our first glimpse of our future PG. Love Ricky but Cobra Kai would be a hell of a lot cheaper.
