What's new

Great move by KOC, whats next?

Let's wait until we win a championship before we say this is a bigger steal than the Gasol trade.

I agree that none of them can guard Gasol or Bynum, but we finally have someone who can score against them. Boozer can do nothing in the post against the Lakers but if you watch Al's highlight, you will see how he can take Gasol and Bynum to the low post and score.

This is not a steal; this is using the available cap space - which is an asset. In this case, since Jazz were over cap limit, they obtained a friendly gesture from Bulls/Boozer to create this cap space (trade exception). And then one team wanted a player for about $14/year another team needed cap room (an asset) for its future plans.

this is not too far from signing a free agent in the transaction of things and if would have happend that way would it have been a 'steal.'?

If we retain Matthews, and our players can stay or get (Okur) healthy, maybe, just maybe, we could finally get the #2 seed and do some damage.

Yet I can't help but think Okur's return will be slow and he'll hit some major roadbumps along the way, one of either AK, Millsap or AJ will get hurt and miss 25 games, and we'll end up in the 4 seed with a second round match-up vs. you know who.

We need to keep Matthews in order to have some semblance of a perimeter defense. Next, I'd get Brewer back as an energy guy off the bench. He can play both SG and SF and runs the floor very well, and though not as sound defensively on a consistant basis as Matthews, does have his moments of brilliance due to his great quickness.
Harrington seems destined for Dallas, per ESPN. Nor really a SG, more a PF/SF...

I still wonder if we have talked to Raja Bell and his agent to see what kind of contract they want. Since Matthews is almost certainly gone and Bell might do a one two year contract for quite a bit less than Matthew's I think he should be a guy on our radar.
