The "existence of the Jazz" has nothing to do with the millers. It has everything to do with fans willing to pay to watch basketball and some folks who set up a league to provide that. Millers could all drop dead tomorrow and the Jazz would go on somewhere.
Why do people worship the ultra wealthy so much?
Well technically that is and isn't true. The existence of the Jazz has nothing to do with the Millers, as it started in New Orleans. Sam Battistone, then the owner, moved the Jazz to Utah, so Battistone is responsible for the Jazz existing in Utah in the first place. With mounting losses on the business side he was looking for investors to take the operation off his hands, and had interest from a group in Minnesota. But in the end he sold 50% of the Jazz to Larry Miller. So in this way the Millers are responsible for the Jazz staying in Utah. But no, they had nothing to do with the inception of the franchise or its move to Utah.
