Greg Miller to KoC: be aggressive this summer

I'm very happy about KOC's aggressiveness so far.

I wonder why they talk about extending Millsap and not Jefferson???

Maybe because Millsap, or maybe it was his agent, talked about it first. In any case, it's the media that seems to be talking about it. I don't remember KOC specifically mentioning an extension for Millsap while excluding Jefferson from the conversation.

Probably an offshoot of Millsap's paranoia about being anointed the "starter" at PF. Getting big $$$ would, in his mind, ensure that... Starting last season out as the 6th man did not make him happy, and he probably wants to avoid that again. With Favors in the wings, he needs to face the fact it's inevitable...

Greg Miller has two jobs in the organization.

1) Make sure the checks don't bounce

2) Pick up new guys at the airport.
And that's the way it should be. Look at the teams with meddlesome owners,; they usually don't do too well. Cuban is involved with his franchise, but as a cheerleader. He lets those who know basketball make the decisions. Larry H. was a great guy, but at times I tink he cared too much. He got int the way of some deals, particularly getting rid of AK's huge salary and that set the franchise back. Then again, had he not used the word "fire" with Sloan, Deron may have never made it off the bench.

Because Millsap and Favors are already better, and if you spent a third pick on Kanter, he better be as well.

Al has no future with this team. Trade him.

My only question is where is bluesrocker to get on this site and eat some crow? He was all about talking about how KOC never does anything. 2 aggressive moves in 72 hours. Has he eaten his crow yet!

With the kind of assets he has been having now these moves can hardly be called aggressive. In fact this was why I never felt the loss of a draft pick was a big deal when the Jazz made playoffs. Because they have assets to trade. The Jazz just got a couple of role players who may or may not improve on their performances here as compared to their previous reasons. Nothing much to jump about. Lets see what they do further with their assets. These moves so far dont better trading up to get Deron, trading for Al, or getting Korver. It is just that Jazz fans are so starved for FO action offseason after offseason that when they actually see a move or two happening right away in July the think their FO is full of geniuses. Look around and you'll see a lot of teams doing this every year.
