Greg Miller to step down as CEO of Larry H. Miller Group of Companies (Including Utah Jazz)

Just read it in des news.

My spider senses tell me this will not be good for my jazz addiction.

Looks like it's between Karen, Stephen, and Bryan if they want to keep it in the family. Is that Mark Miller Toyota guy not his kid?

I was in the same 6th grade class as Bryan. I also went to Valley High the same time he did. Pretty sure he's the black sheep of the family, but I'd also guess he's the most like LHM when it comes down to it.

P.S. not saying I know the guy, especially not over the last 15+ years and even then, not so much.

Would NBA lobby for Utah to keep its team as much as it did for Sacremento? Are there rich enough people in Utah to buy a team and keep it?

I hope they don't sell the team becasue any sell has a chance of relocation.

I will burn it all down if the Jazz leave Utah.

Greg stepping down is the headline, but it is steve stepping down for his position over the sports that is scary for me as a jazz fan. One of them wanting to pursue other interests is a spin, but believable. two of them at the same time indicates trouble.

Edit to back away from the ledge...

Told the moves are about the long-term future of the company. There will be an outside board of directors, but biz as usual in Jazz land.

There are a couple families that are that rich. Not sure what they think of the Jazz or owning an NBA team though.

I don't know how much money the Vivint guy is worth at the moment, but Blackstone did pay 2 billion for a stake in that company a few years ago, so that's probably a guy that could put together a bid group, and he seems like the type that would.

Would you still follow the Jazz if they relocated? I hope it doesn't happen, this would really suck. I guess I would just become an NBA fan, in general...

I've heard rumblings that a potential move to Las Vegas and selling the team has been a consideration for many years and that there's league influence from Silver and Co. to tap into the Vegas market.

Don't forget that the NBA is basically saying that legalized gambling is here and here to stay. The timing of this with that is a bit unnerving.

Well the 'Vegas Jazz' can go screw it if that ends up being the case.
