I just read about how the owners of the company turned down an offer from Google to purchase them.

Then I read up on them some and became a member.

Anyone have any positive or negative experiences using this site?

the deals are okay... far from the best on a daily basis. But good for consistency.

It started in Chicago (it was originally called someting else but I don't recall what) so I know folks who have been using it very happily for a while. I know business owners who have used it and been very happy with the increased traffic they've received. We've used a couple of the deals - the deals were good. It partly depends on whether or not you actually end up using the coupon. You need to pay attention to the expiration time and other details.

on a side note, there was a report about a company that will buy and resell your "soon to expire" Groupon coupons. LOL.
