GSW salary situation an Utah Jazz

Sorry colton but this needs its own thread.

Yep, I've said this for years.

Did NBA not address this by creating a super max? How can you keep a team like Golden State together when you have to pay 2 guys 70% if your cap room? They GSW will be so far in the LT that it would be crippling an someone is gonna walk.

That makes me think, where does Draymond, Klay an Iggy land when Steph demands $38 million each per year an Durant opts out this summer? Is there a chance Jazz can bargain for Draymond or Klay in July? They cannot afford to keep that team together. It is already bursting at the financial seems an maybe, just maybe, DL can work a deal that lands Utah a much needed third cog. Draymond is the wild card here but I would take Klay to.

An do not tell me none of these are available. GSW arready let Harrison Barnes loose an he is now Dallas best player.

But how will we be any better? If we max Gobert and Hayward, then have to pay Favors over 100 million and Hood 90 million, aren't we screwed cap wise as well?

Isn't it time the Jazz do something with their assets? Wouldn't it be best for the Jazz to try to trade any and everyone not named Hayward and Gobert for another All Star before the draft?

I would assume Favs would be out of the picture if Draymond is the target. Same for the case of Hood and Klay.

Yes, the new CBA helped a bit. But there's still more to be done. As long as you're basically forced to pay players like Hayward (let's say top 15 or so) the same amount as the top 3-4 players, the teams that have the very top players have an ENORMOUS advantage.

The best way to fix this is to get rid of max contracts.
Even better would be a hard cap imo. Never happen doe.

It's not a marketplace with alternative options. This line of capitalistic reasoning would need competing league options for the players. Mega-contracts never stopped Shaq and the Lakers but they sure as hell stopped Minnesota with Garnett's $28,000,000 salary.

You'd need to adopt a hard cap, non-guaranteed contracts and no slotted salaries (other than rookie deals...maybe). You'd have the NFL system and the NBA players would be insane to ever agree to anything like that. If I'm an NBA player, I want to keep it the way it is. If you can become a rotation player (like Burks or Hood), largely irrelevant to your team's success/failure, you can take home 40-100 million in career earnings. In the NFL, you take home 1-2 million in career earnings.

Yep

Have you seen how much money the Warriors make? They are more than willing to pay insane amounts of LT.

Honestly I think the league is probably more concerned that the lakers and Knicks suck super hard(with the Bulls not far behind) than they are about super teams.

The Warriors CAN keep everyone. As long as they are able to re-sign KD if he opts out before they re-sign Steph then it won't be a problem until 2019 when Klay is a FA. They have Draymond until 2020. They'll be way over the LT but I don't think they care.

Knuckles an Fakers make money regardless of product. Rich bitches don't go to The Garden to watch the game they go to socialize in a lazy setting where they do not have to try so hard.

Basically, NBA don't care about those cause those is getting there own just fine.

What the NBA cares about is caressing the NBAPU, the strongest an most powerful union in professional sports, if not in any industry. Ever think they do is to chop away at that power an they do not care if it comes from New York or Utah or Portland. Think about it, billionaires going without revenue for months over a shutout why? Think.
